Yep. Pray that Dillon gets to play. We need Amen on SGA and Dillon on Williams. We actually match up better than most against OKC if Ime can swallow his ego and yank FVV if he is getting burned. Jalen needs to step up big time.
In addition to this brutal stretch of games, the NBA really kicked the organization in the jimmy by scheduling a 3 game west coast road trip against GS and the LA teams- all of whom are fighting for playoff positioning at the end of the season. Without looking at any data, anecdotally, it feels like the Rockets struggle on these long west coast road trips.
The refs are not going to let us win the GSW or Laker games. We have to win against the Clippers and Denver.
You call it a disadvantage, I say advantage. We will be playoff tested before these boys ever lace up for their first NBA playoff game.
And having a real playoff spot means you have about a week of rest between the last regular season game and the first game of the actual playoffs.
I'm not sure it deserves its own thread, but Dillon Brooks will be out against Thunder on Saturday because of his 16th technical. I'll be curious to see if Udoka gives the starters the night off again.
Like Flair would say “To Be The Man You Got To Beat The Man”! I would agree with the point, to play a deeper rotation to finish off the season. Go Rockets! H-Town Crazy!!
These last 5 games can actually be a good thing for us. Like getting a free trial of the playoffs. I read somewhere that Luka said they were treating the game like a playoff one (the refs certainly did), so it's a good thing for our young guys to get acclimated to that intensity without the results impacting a series. As everyone besides OKC is fighting for seeding, they will throw whatever they can against us to get the W. The only two things I want is for us to stay healthy and avoid the Warriors in the 1st round. Everything more is gravy.
This brutal game stretch is preparing the Rockets for the playoffs. Todays game was a good example of helping the Rockets mentally prepare for a playoff like atmosphere and game.
Great play so far, our guys are rising up to the level and that's a good sign. Beating the Warriors in their building is especially sweet. So proud of our team.
