Yep losing Luhnow is eventually going to catch up to them and they dont have the money to outspend their mistakes.
Screw it. If the Astros aren't winning the championship, Dodgers can destroy the regular season win record and dominate the playoffs. The spotlight will grow on how ridiculous their payroll and deferred salaries are. Ben Verlander posts that since there's no salary cap every team can do it but there's only so many superstar players in MLB. If every team was suddenly willing to spend like the Dodgers, not much would change, and things might get even worse. Superstar players would form a few super teams, and other teams would just overpay middle to lower tier players. A salary cap and salary minimum are needed.
I miss ole Luhnow. Certainly his baseball mind. But I'm happy for him because it Seems like he's living his best life. Whatever football club he's with won a cup in their respective league i believe. last year maybe? And things like this
Gave this man away for Vazquez. How’s that for an arm since y’all love complaining about our guys noodle arms lol
Vladimir Guerrero 14 years $500 mil https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025...ly-making-progress-towards-extension.html:eek: Seems like a lot. Does thus increase Tucker's pay if he stays healthy and hits? Or was this a over pay by the Jays?
500 million seems absurd for a bat only player who has been inconsistent and also had work ethic questions. Baseball contracts have gotten wild.
That is bonkers, he is a heck of a player, but I am not paying an overweight, inconsistent player that much for that long................if he got that then King Tuck is about to break the bank
I for one do not think he is a heck of a player. Polarizing, yes. Top notch 1b, I'm not sold. Although, I have made a bunch of money off his overly priced baseball cards. Got to get them Bowman 1st's baby.
Vlad getting paid like he's the 2024 version of himself. Hard to even count 2021 given playing half the season in minor league stadiums. I think he is a really good player, but I wouldn't want to be locked into any of these monster contracts.
