And his name is Amen Thompson, we have been looking for a DUDE for 5 years and we have him, every team is built differently. We have Jalen's scoring, Alpi's scoring and rebounding, Jabari's all around game...etc...etc..etc... But Amen is our best player, he is disruptive all over the floor....and is only in his 2nd year. you’re right, we do have our dude Imelangelo does not get enough credit for developing these young guys and getting them to buy into defense and being coached hard/being held accountable it was said during the OKC game that the players say that Ime brought that dawg outta them Ime can bench Jalen or Sengun in a 4th quarter, and they don’t start sulking and b*tching…Jabari is a 3rd overall pick coming off the bench and he’s not whining and complaining
Amen had only 14 points and 5 rebounds tonight. But his +/- was +26.. The classical stats don't represent his massive impact. Maybe NBA-related companies should consider creating an advanced stat called "Amen".
I'm pretty convinced Amen is our "franchise" player, for those who like that title. After this season, I think he's a proverbial All-Star/All NBA player. What's so fascinating is that he's literally the polar opposite in many respects from our prior franchise player. The fact that he's not getting more buzz for DPOY is absurd.
Only 14 points, but he also kept Curry 22 points under his season average. Amen's 5 stocks were also huge. He's just such a deflating player - it has to be such a pain in the ass to go against him.

He was the perfect pick for our scrappy team.. Now we have 2 guys that can dominate stretches in Jalen and Alpi.. Add Reeds's shooting and a minor upgrade in the backcourt somewhere into the mix, and next year -n- beyond may be special.. And not just special for us fans , but special in regards to NBA history
He’s my favorite, explosive, pure athleticism, speed and for a guy that supposedly can’t shoot he’s got incredible touch from the FT in, if J Kidd can develop an outside shot so can Amen. Even better he seems to be a great guy off the court. I suppose if your middle name is XLNC ya better live up to it…..
I think a lot of it is because he came off the bench for much of the year. Next year it's on though. I do not know what he would have to do to beat Wemby (it may be almost impossible if he is game eligible) but Amen is doing crazy stuff. If the Rockets can find a shot blocking athletic center through trade or the draft they could have an INSANE lineup. Reed Sheppard (tips balls constantly) Amen Eason Jabari Defensive center Hard to score on that. Sheppard needs to get stronger in this scenario.
This might be my favorite part of Amen. You couldn't build a better player for this version of the Rockets under Ime.
In a 10-point win over the Warriors, the Rockets were, +26 in Amen's 29 mins on the court! -16 in the 19 mins Amen was resting!

Yeah he sucked the soul from the eyes of Curry and Podziemski. Those two had no swagger left at the end of the game. Total defeat.
