He’s quite possibly the best on ball defender in the league, and is also a witchcraft weak side helper and rim protector. It’s quite unique.
Amen Thompson "The Curry Killer" Single-handedly took the life out of Curry tonight. You could see it in Curry's eyes. All his bravado and arrogance left. Amen brought him to Jesus.
These two games against SGA and Curry have probably cemented Amen a spot in the all-defensive first team. Without Wemby, he honestly should be in the running for DPOY but perhaps his name recognition isn’t up there yet. Regardless of the awards and accolades, it’s been a joy to watch Amen all season. He does things so miraculously athletic on the court that he almost seems like a cartoon character. He reads the game so well that you can’t help but to think his brain works just as fast as he moves on the court. The sky is the limit, and with how high he jumps, he might just get there!
You seldom see an elite lightning fast athlete also has the processing speed in his head to match his body's speed. The only guy I can think of is Michael Jordan.
Garnett is not as fast as those smaller guys. But point taken. Garnett's athleticism and body control is right there.
Steph Curry's thoughts on Amen Thompson guarding him in tonight's game. Gotta admit - a pretty classy response :
Mofos on Reddit saying green should not have gotten a flagrant and that sengun was flopping. I can’t believe people think sengun was doing a backflip out there. It seemed like green had plenty of time to adjust to not hit him in the face but instead green put his elbow through sengun’s face. Obviously offensive foul and excessive contact not a glancing blow. Hopefully lakers lose Tuesday and the rockets clench before their next game and sengun can rest his face.
If he can develop a floater and a jump shot...sky is the limit. He needs to JUST WORK ON THOSE 2 THINGS, and he will be a SUPER BEAST.
