If the Lakers lose today against OKC then we'd only need to win 1 more game to secure the #2 seed. Wouldn't mind sowing that up tonight.

But this is Houston we're talking about... it's never that easy.

    Did we shatter OKC's swag?

It was a great win, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here, shall we? We are not the only ones to beat them this year and we won't be the last either. If the last game was part of the playoffs, they'd still win the series in six, allowing one more road accident like this. They know this and if we don't, we are fooling ourselves. We are good and we have shown that we can beat any team any given night, but we lack consistency. Every time we win a different way, every time some other guy has a great game. It looks like adaptability, but it actually is chaos and chaos is not sustainable in playoffs.

Maybe. I watched some of the 1st half and OKC just wasn't locked in while the Lakers were playing for a purpose. The incredible 18/32 3-point shooting by the Lakers against the best 3-point shooting defense in the NBA shows OKC's players were barely trying.

The difference in intensity in the 1st half was shocking.

They play again Tuesday. Hopefully the Thunder screw their heads back on and win.

Yeah the Lakers played on a different level, and they were making everything.

Great win against the feared Warriors.

Do we need to beat the Lakers to win out in case both the Rockets and Lakers end up with the same record?

Would a win against the Clippers secure the number two seed?

any one win or any one Lakers loss is all it takes. If the Thunder beat the Lakers on Tuesday it’s already wrapped.

If not, we would have 3 chances to clinch one win.

What a sweet win against a hot Warriors team! We officially closed out the Warriors and Nuggets and secured the #3 seed. Just 1 more Rocket victory or Laker loss, and we clinch the #2 seed. What an awesome finish to a magical season.

It's crazy that 4-8 all have 32 losses. I feel like we could face any of the teams below us in Round 1. The standings are going to get shaken up like an etch a sketch the next week.

    1) OKC Thieves 64-13 (Out of Reach)
    2) Rockets 52-27
    3) Lakers 48-30 Magic Number (1) (-1)
    4) Nuggets 47-32 (Dusted)
    5) Clippers 46-32 (Clipped)
    6) Warriors 46-32 (Vanquished)
    7) Wolves 46-32 (Lobotomized)
    8) Grizzlies 46-32 (Hibernated)
    9) Kings 38-40 (Deposed)
    10) Mavericks 38-41 (Bridled)
    11) Suns 35-43 (Eclipsed)

It seems Oklahoma is happy to be the first seed with a healthy roster. Regardless if they win or lose their last two or three games, they will still end up the first seed in the west.

So my guess is the Lakers take care of business against the Thunder.

So the Rockets need to take care of business and beat the LA Clippers.

The Clippers wont just rollover for us like the Warriors.

Some of those 4-8 teams play each other this week too. Memphis hosts Minnesota on Thursday, Denver hosts Memphis on Friday, and Golden State hosts the Clippers on Sunday.

So the magic number is 1 for home court against the Lakers in a potential 2nd round meeting and 2 for home court against the Knicks in a potential Finals meeting (looking way ahead :D)?

With our luck, we'll be playing the Warriors in the 1st round

I'd be surprised if that happened. They have a pretty soft schedule this week.

Maybe next year. It was a lot of fun writing them! :)

I got divorced and was a full-time dad for 5 days a week, which made writing things up let alone watching games tough. Now that the kids are almost out of high school, I have a lot more time on my hands. Was a fun season to get to watch a lot of games again. Next year should be a ton of fun with the guys a year older, a nice draft pick, and some Stone tweaking to improve the roster.
