Does anyone understand how Contreras made the opening day roster?

 

If you look at his splits at Coors vs away, he was almost a 900 hitter at him and below 600 hitter away. The gamble was that he could adjust his swing to be optimized for sea level. If he can, which it is looking like, he could be an all-star level player. That is why I thought it was weird that it took so long to make a decision on him especially with all the options we had on him. Looks like the gamble is paying off.


I say if he keeps this up for a few months, we offer him an extension and hope he takes it at a reasonable salary.
