My bad... when the Coogs were down 14, I thought we'd lose by 20. What an unbelievable comeback !!! And we're not finished yet Monday is coming...... .
Clayton is harder to guard than Flagg because he's a quick perimeter guy who can hit from 27-feet away and doesn't need much space. The Steph Curry comparisons are legit. On the other end, UH's perimeter guys should be able to get their shots off more easily.
I don't want to jinx it, but this feels like 94-95 again. We've played the toughest teams on offer in the toughest of circumstances. We've pulled out some incredible and improbable wins. It's Clutch City College Edition. I believe.
CBS is constantly the better non-biased journalistic sports platform. You know you're getting dick-rider most popular/East Coast bias at ESPN.
Point spreads are mainly there to try to gin up (mostly equal) action on both sides. It could move in either direction by game time, but it's less about predictive odds (though secondarily related), and more about public perception.
It's not like the foul call gave us a whole lot of advantage. We got the rebound, down 1 point with lots of time left to score a basket. As it happened, Roberts was a below average FT shooter (props to him for the cold blooded makes). There's a good chance he wouldn't make both FTs. They got the ball back with plenty of time to score the winning points.
Whichever team drafts Ka Nipple will become my most hated team...hopefully it's Utah. Cringed every time the announcers said his name.
My level of disgust with ESPN just reached a new low. Minutes ago I watched with anticipation as they counted down their top 10 plays from yesterday. Thought for sure at least one of the top 10 plays would come from the UH Duke game. Didn't happen. Only one fairly ordinary dunk from the Fla Auburn made their top 10 list. I guess they hat us or have little or no respect for us. I can think of 3 or 4 plays just in the last couple of minutes that should have made their top 10 list. What a slap in the face from ESPN.
The Clayton kid does concern me a bit, but we have more players to throw at him than we did for Flag. Cryer, Uzan, Sharp, Wilson are all pretty good on the ball defenders with a similar build. Even Arceneaux can stay in front of a lot of guards. Against Duke and their size, we were a significant Tugler injury away from being blown out. Just a much tougher matchup because we simply dont have much depth at the forward position. Florida is a great team but we aight. lil bro tech had them dead to rights. we can win.
Clayton might be harder to guard… maybe, perhaps — but he is 6” shorter than Flagg. He won’t effect the game defensively like Cooper can, and offensively he won’t rebound like Flagg either. Every Coog can guard Clayton with at minimum decent effectiveness. However, Flagg’s height is a mismatch for most of the team.
