If his name was Copwitz Flagnisovich playing in the Croatian B-League yall would just say "hell yeah, he's the best 17/18 year old we've ever seen"
I'm very happy with the Cougars win. They have proven themselves against the favored Duke team. The Cougars can win the championship game!
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-b...duke-stunned-silence-epic-collapse-final-four That's exactly what I was drunk yelling about on here at halftime. Put me on the coaching staff! Go Coogs! As for Monday, anybody watch Florida? Would our regular defense be effective? How good are Clayton and Martin at creating and passing? Or are they just great one-on-one scorers?
I kind of got caught up in the moment I posted. The comeback and outstanding effort started much earlier. When we were down 14 the game felt like it was beginning to get away and for a moment I thought we were cooked. I think maybe when we hit that three and the Duke player was also called with that flagrant one foul, even though Cryer only hit one of the two FT's, that gave me hope. Not sure what time was on the clock when that happened. Until that point in the game almost every loose ball, every rebound, and every call seemed to go Duke's way. On my to do list for today is to find replay of last 10 minutes or so of game. Whatever happened during that time kind of came out of nowhere and caught Duke totally unprepared and off guard. Amazing team effort. This game will be remembered by Cougar fans probably forever. Because of what was at stake it eclipses anything I can think of and I have been watching Cougar basketball since the early 70's.
I got laughed out of a few places for saying this, but I was betting on experience tonight. Both players and coaches. Duke is world class talent. But they're green from top to bottom. They got outmanuevered and outdogged last night. If Sampson wins the natty, put him on the Mount Rushmore of college basketball immediately. This year has been his Sgt Peppers.
Duke got an absurd amount of lucky bounces and at least 3 extra possessions from ref mistakes in the first 30 minutes last night. That trend had to even out eventually... the trick was would there be enough time left. To be honest, there wasn't enough time left. We forced Duke into mistakes that gave us life. This team is full of some of the toughest mother ****ers I have ever seen in my life. There is no quit in them.
I’ve slept and digested a bit: This was one of the best comebacks in big game sports, ever. Glad I watched. I’ll be honest, at one point early in the second half I said to my wife that it didn’t look good. Pretty rare for me to say something like that but Duke was just so overwhelmingly good and big. It was like the Coogs were a bunch of guards out there vs the massive Duke lineup. Then UH clamped down with that ****ing dog defense and heart and Duke just lost their composure. What a game. I don’t usually follow college ball but this was an old school NBA-style playoff battle. No giving up. Just pure will and heart. What a game.
Duke was 79-0 when leading by double digits under Scheyer. We trailed by our largest deficit all year (14) in this game. This is an all-timer guts win. Pure grit.
Coogs are winning ugly but I don’t care. A win is a win. Florida cannot match up with them physically and mentally on Monday. I’m so ready for a parade in H Town. One helluva choke job by Duke. They literally got mugged in 60 seconds.
