Perhaps the strong medicine at the end of the Lakers game from Udoka gave Jalen a kick in the pants that he needed.

Looking at other top picks from other years Rockets and Stone are hella lucky they started the rebuild with the 2021 class and Jalen Green. Imagine if Rockets got their top 2 pick in the 2020 or 2019 class, Rockets would be ****ed.

Either Wiseman who is a bust or Lamelo who is always injured, or RJ Barrett who is a bust or Ja Morant who is always injured and doing dumb ****. Even Chet, as good as he is will be always be an injury concern.

Jalen for all the hate he has gotten has been extremely durable and didnt stop working on his game. He has reached career highs in 3 pt shooting, defense and effort on the court. He is a good kid, very coachable and doesnt get into trouble on the court. He doesnt have an ego and doesnt pout or lose his **** when he gets benched in the 4rth. These mental aspects arent talked about but they are exceedingly rare as NBA players get more and more spoiled nowadays.

Rox were extremely lucky to get Jalen.

It's all coming together. He now has a feel for the game. One of the best things to do is to attack when the defense isn't set yet, and earlier in his career Jalen would never know when to do that. Now he does which gives him easy buckets at the rim.

he looked like Kobe out there at moments in this last game especially with the fadeaway jumper. Imagine if he perfected these shots!

So factually poor team spacing is 100% Jalen's responsibility but his good performances are only partially on Jalen based on some colloquial tough-guy BS?

Others deserve credit when he plays well but nothing can possibly make the game different for Jalen?

For the record, I do believe good coaching and good spacing factor into the equation, whether he plays well or not.

Yeah I am starting to believe this lol.

Regardless I am all for punting for 1 more year before any drastic trades regardless how they perform in the playoffs. We signed JG to a 2+1 deal would be dumb to trade him before he even gets to play a year and then he blows up on his new team

Good call! Pace can alter things in a faster player's favor. An extra 4 transition points can swing any close game.

When Jalen and Amen are pushing the tempo, they can attack before 4 bigs are set up and waiting in the paint (our double bigs plus their defenders). In this way they're daring the opponent to match their speed and athleticism > and no one in the league has two fast enough starters to keep up with Green and Amen. That's an actual elite advantage we have over the entire league. When Green or Amen don't have a transition sidekick, the other team is able to muffle their attempts pretty comfortably.

Green used to fiddle around a little too much kind of like Harden, but Green doesn't have the same strength and ball-handling skill to be attacking a set defense and a packed paint over and over again. Then when we'd ask him not to fiddle around, it seemed he'd rush the shots. He seems to have found a nice balance over the past month or so.

What a green hater. 2025 post BTW.

Can't pass, isnt nba starter material, Brewer 2.0, just 19 years old. Can only run and dunk.

It was a pretty awful oop pass so it was either contort and do something amazing or come down with it/blow a less crazy dunk. I'm glad Jalen had the creativity and flexibility to pull that reverse out of his bag of tricks. I think that's what makes Jalen's dunks so aesthetically appealing--his dunks are a blend of power, finesse, and oftentimes jaw-dropping hangtime, sometimes all in one.

If Jalen can continue on this trajectory, and I truly believe he can, he will be one of the most marketable players in the league by the middle of next season. And that'll bring more money, more whistles, and more wins!

attacking the defense before it get sets has always been the best way to good offense. That is one reason that getting FVV off the ball is paramount for this team.

He’s leveling up game by game, getting a better feel for the game, and mastering the art of picking his moments instead of forcing shots. It’s as if he’s had an epiphany: more ball movement around him doesn’t just help the team, it makes him shine brighter too.

He basically learned when his job is complete. He lets the ball go now usually as soon as a second defender feints towards him to create an advantage for his teammates. Before he'd delay that pass because he thought he could beat the double.

This makes the offense run so much smoother creating a lot of those swing passes around the perimeter initially started by Green breaking the perimeter defenders

Just an example that on/off stats cannot solely determine quality and importance of a player.
