The Coogs are super athletic and rugged, but the exciting whites from Duke are so talented offensively. Duke's defensive effort is also elite.
6 points at the half is ok imagine if we didn’t play like absolute garbage and the refs weren’t so obviously against us.
Also, might have to turn to plan B on defense. Duke's length, penetration, and passing are beating the hard shows and leading to great looks. It worked for a little bit early, but the good looks are too many now. Might have to just switch it all and man up on D. Or just be better with the help rotations. Or both. On offense, we missed too many bunnies early and hopefully that's the end of it.
I trust in Sampson to get these guys right in the second half. We still have half the game to play, seize the moment mfs!!
I have followed the Coogs all season. Most of you have as well. Have you ever seen them look this out of sorts? Can't hit shots. Can't hold on to the ball. Can't do anything particularly well. YET, only trail by SIX. Those two late threes by Uzan and Cryer were BIG. They can't play worse. Can they?
Duke is really good and UH is doing well to stay close and keep them from scoring easily. I don’t know if the Coogs have enough offense but if they can keep Duke under 70-75, they have a great chance. Just gotta start hitting the easy shots they’re missing and Roberts needs to start realizing he can score down low. He’s passed up or not recognized a few opportunities to go to the basket.
We are only down 6 at the half. I will take it. Duke played nearly perfect half of basketball. Frankly outtoughed us and kicked our ass. Florida came back from 8 down at half to beat Auburn, We can do the same. Make adjustments. Tall mountain to climb but for now I am still a believer.
