Hate to say it, but I see the Magic taking this one. It's gonna be like the Super Bowl to Steve, Cato and Mobley.

depends if JVG will put in the Starters... and let them play.

IF he puts in the Bench for the majority of the game... then maybe the Magic will take this one... cuz Francis, Mobley, and Cato WILL bring their "A" game.

it all depends on if the ROCKETS treat this game like a season game, and not a preseason game (Bench players)

Seriously I think Steve, Cat and TMac are gonna bring it. It'll be fun to watch.

I am pretty sure that Francis will have a triple-double.

I'd be curious to see how the players will greet each other, especially Mobley/Yao, Cato/Yao. I woul predict that Francis and Yao will exchange a hug.

TMac had 31 points last time we played the Magic and Yao had 37 so I think TMac will be alright

Just took a look at TiVo. The game does not appear on the NBA League Pass schedule for tonight. That may change as we get closer to game time.

In Van Gundy's defensive scheme, Ward (or Lue) doesn't have to worry about their ankles. All defensive dribble penetration is soft trapped and funneled baseline. IMHO, Francis will struggle with JVG's defensive set but it does leave some vulnerability to alley-oops for Cato or Dwight Howard.

Although, I have noticed VG forcing Yao (more than last season) to rotate out of the paint. It'll be interesting to see if Francis can pass or shoot over Yao. :D

Another aspect of the game which will be fun to watch is transition D. For those that haven't noticed, Ward and Lue (and Jackson and McGrady) initiate the Rockets' offense much quicker in the shot clock. The Rockets can make the Magic in general and Francis in particular pay for not getting back and matching up quickly. I haven't watched closely but the Magic seem to be committed to some uptempo as well.

Clearly, the Rockets are the better team. The Magic have struggled in spite of Francis and Mobley playing major minutes. I think the outcome in large part will reflect how many minutes JVG wants to play his starters.

    :)

Yep. Ask yourself this...who has a bigger beef against his old team?

Francis wanted to stay w/the Rox (Will try and defend "home" court tonight)
McGrady wanted to leave the Magic. (No mixed feelings about trying to win on his old home court)

And while the Orlando GM is spouting off to the media, McGrady gets angrier and angrier.

Can you say, "Big Dog" Robinson? :D Beware of Tmac!

Am I the only one who wishes they would have saved this "first matchup" for the regular season, when it actually matters?

With that said though, I see the Rockets winning by about 8 points. Francis scorches Ward and Lue, and T-Mac spends most of the game in the stands hunting down Weisbrod.:D

If Tmac wanna prove anything, it would be 15 assists rather 45 points that will definitely debunk Weisbrod's criticism on his selfishness.

Very Good point and i look to see T-Mac really get his team involved while at the same time scoring his own. That way the Gm has nothing more to say.

Even though he probably will keep talking to get to T-Mac i am really liking how he is being a lot more professional about it and not letting it get the best of him and making himself look bad in the media.
