lol, the Warriors have been paying a gigantic LT bill for years and were gonna be paying almost 300 mil in LT alone next season

they got rid of Jordan Poole so they can keep Draymond on a new 4 year deal

the Clippers dropped their LT bill from an estimated 169 mil to 59 mil

so yes, that narrative still applies

What irks me most about tilman that during the harden years, he talked a lot of sht like doing whatever it takes to win.

But u see him getting rid of contracts with first round picks to avoid lts, doing literally everything to avoid lts and the kicker was selling it to the folks that John wall and cousins were the reinforcement harden needed to compete for a ring

Folks praising that he finally delivered that practice facility he promised 7 years ago. Pfffffft.

i'll give Tillman credit for doing a better job of stfu and staying outta the way...

but spending up to the cap is a min expectation of the owner imo...

into luxury tax - then i'll start giving props...

    lol

He wouldn't pay lux tax when the team was a championship contender. Now you want to cheer when he passes the cap floor (which is a legal requirement of the CBA) on a 20 win team? Prepare to be flamed.

We HAVE to spend 90% of the salary cap. If that rule wasn't implemented I guarantee you we are rolling out the same budget team this year.

So if you don't match GSW's tax bill you're a cheap owner? Also Warrior have won like 5 championships, if the best they've gotten is WCF I dunno how willing their owner will be to pay 300M in lux tax.

You mean pay lux tax for Ariza who has done nothing since he got paid by Atlanta? Lol

That whole championship narrative is also dumb AF Rox were only contenders for 1 yr in 2018. The following year their window closed already, couldn't beat GSW who had injuries to Klay, Steph, KD, Cousins, Iggy and Looney. Somehow that team is a contender? Wtf! GSW was the contender, Rockets were just some other team who lost to one of the contenders.

CP3 and Harden were beefing, the team was old and couldn't shoot straight. They weren't a championship contender at all and probably never were. CP3 is the choke God, anytime he is a major player on a team you know that team will never win a ring.

Anytime somebody claims Fertita broke apart a contender I know that guy has no clue.

Tilman as an owner sucks. He always has. How can people even refute that?

When he goes into the LT it could signify that he is willing to pay to win. I don't know if that ever happens.

And remember, draftees don't even want to work out for our team. You can blame that on KPJ (and that's some of it) but if Tilman was a highly thought of owner than I guaranteed they'd work out for us. If he was a highly thought of owner and he determined KPJ was the problem then he'd get rid of him.

Our team is the joke of the league the last three years. Nobody cares if we were tanking our not, we were laughed at. And Tilman is responsible for that.

Oh you you are absolutely right Amen and Cam Whitmore were absolutely horrified and didn't want to work out for the Rockets.

There's a huge gap between cheap and what GSW has done. Tilman is on the average side as owners go but posters here act like he's the cheapest ever just cuz he wouldn't overpay for washed Ariza.

The narrative Tilman broke up some amazing championship team is cringe AF. I was there at the time the Rockets couldn't even beat GSW with 5 players injured or w/e but hearing clutch fans posters take on this you'd think Harden and Cp3 were besties and on the way to a dynasty before miser Fertita refused to pay up.

That Rockets team was so bad I remember they got blown up by 20 pts their first 3 games and Morey panicked and blackballed Melo. Do you remember that?

I think the main question is how competent of an owner is Fertitta and the front office under Stone. I was hopeful when he bought the team, but it’s been a bunch of questionable moves since then. The biggest one being the decision to tank for 3 straight years in an effort to get high draft picks. Fertitta and Stone will look like dumbasses if none of those picks turn out to be franchise cornerstones.

Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta expresses interest in Saints, if the team ever is for sale

The Saints are not for sale, but if Gayle Benson ever decides to sale, Houston Rockets owner and billionaire Tilman Fertitta said he has interest.

"I've always loved the New Orleans Saints , but she won't sell them right now," Fertitta told Chandler France of the Houston Business Journal.

Fertitta said he has not made a formal offer, but he has made his interest known.

Benson, 77, has no heirs, but her will reportedly instructs team president Dennis Lauscha to take on the role of executor of the estate and oversee the sale of the team. The team must remain in New Orleans.

Fertitta unsuccessfully bid on the Commanders in 2023, reportedly offering $4.4 billion. The team sold for $6 billion.

The Saints are valued at $4.4 billion, according to a Forbes estimate.

CBS News reported Tuesday that Fertitta is Donald Trump's pick as the next U.S. ambassador to Italy.
