Fred Vanfleet has championship experience if we let that go. I want a player in return with championship experience. No to Harden and no to Booker.

No, have to trade and operate above the cap. FVV out for Durant and Dillon, Landale, Holiday out for Harden. Keep Bari/Tari on RFA. 2026 becomes a very bad cap year. Depending on what 2025 PHX becomes you then play the OKC game. Maximize your assets and if you have to make moves for financial reasons extract more draft capital back in trade. Signed Bari/Tari very valuable. Trading players you don't want to trade gets you something valuable unlike trying to offload trash. I would rather have a stacked roster with financial problems that can be solved by acquiring cheaper long-term assets in draft capital that can be refreshed.

We are second in the west, we don't need to make a decision to trade for anyone --- let the young guys play it out, see where we end up in the playoffs, then we can have the conversation of which superstar wants to come over and win it all.

Fox and Sabonis were already 26-28 when they blew up. Our guys are 23 and younger. Big diff right there.

Playoffs should tell us what this team needs. So hard to tell because this team is just that, a team.

The Rockets may turn into a 2004 Pistons type team. No true super stars but getting contributions across the board to win a chip.

Someone like Ant shakes loose you of course make a play. Other than that, right now, I think it’s just adding complimentary pieces.

    Combination of both

KD can play two more years as 1st, 2nd or 3rd option while playing as SF, PF or C.
Giannis fits if Sengun out. That's the one step back to go one step forward.
    Beal back questionable
Booker, Suns say he is not going anywhere. He is the franchise.
Butler probably re-signs with Warriors. You don't break up a good thing like that.
KAT is a huge defensive liability
Emiid will forever have leg issues
Kyrie had huge injury that his age continues to break down.

Add 1 or 2 shooters as role players

If things get much worse in Denver, take a look at Jokic.

I wonder if there is any way we can get in on Giddey as a free agent. He has actually been shooting well post all-star break, and even if the shooting is a fluke he is a 6'8 point guard who can dish and play defense. When you want to go with a big lineup, we could play Giddey and Amen in the backcourt. Nobody on the floor shorter than 6'7.

I'm not remotely interested in adding any of those guys who are over 30 and making 55 million plus. We'll have to gut the team for those guys. Now, if Anthony Edwards shakes lose then I'm interested. And I'd also be willing to look at Ja or LaMelo if they become available, though I have concerns about the amount of games those guys play.

And I don't think we necessarily need him, but Keon Ellis will be a free agent and I love that guy. If we do end up sending out some of our guards in a consolidation trade, maybe we can try to get him over here with Udoka, where a player like him belongs.

Giddy would be nice, all these idiots still wanting Booker are hilarious … they don’t realize just how important CP3 was to him

All the 3pt shooting bigs are locked up - Naz,Towns,JJJ,Turner,Lopez etc etc …those would be perfect compliments if we want Alpi to play 4 at times if we lose Adams

KD I think would be cheapest and least disruptive to the younger guys

KD could easily slide into the SF or PF role for 1-2 years as a pure shooter. I think he’d be most willing let Amen, Green, Sengun be the leaders while he takes a back seat

KD should not be viewed as a Top 2 offensive option for any legitimate contender. Sure he can score in a pinch, but he will be 37 next year and there is no telling when his health or remaining athletic traits will fall off completely. 6th man sure, a better version of Klay sure, but you cannot expect more than that from him for a full season and playoff run much less multiple seasons of it.

Giannis only works offensively when he is running the show and he has shooters around him. Rockets have no shooters. Also he cannot space the floor for Green, Sengun or Amen. Also so much of his game is based on athleticism and he turns 31 next season. Basically he doesn't really fit the biggest flaws of the Rockets and the Rockets are not set up to maximize his offensive skills. When Giannis leaves Milwaukee it will be much more like when Shaq left the Lakers or Garnett left T-Wolves. Going to a team, where there is another alpha (especially in the playoffs) to take over some of the scoring burden and allow him to have energy to dominate defensively like Boston or also a backup Center to allow him to save some energy on both ends like the Heat with Wade/Mourning.

Book is at best the No. 2 on title team, more like a No. 3 because he still needs at least 1 all-defensive player around him. Plus he (like Durant) seems uncomfortable being the vocal or emotional leader on the team. Lastly, he has shrunk in most of the highest leverage, big playoff opportunities over the past few years. He is also not at all clutch in he last 5 minutes over the past 5 years. Given his biggest job would be scorer and 4th quarter/clutch time basket getter, it would be betting on him showing more than he has so far.

Harden is at best a 6th man. Think Gary Payton on the Wade/Shaq Heat team. He just cannot be trusted to take big shots or make big shots in the playoffs.

Won't know what role players this team needs until we see them in the playoffs.

Kyrie would have been completely ideal if he did not get injured. But he may never be the same player again now.

Right now there is NO slam dunk have to prioritize star player the Rockets can acquire. This year's version of Jimmy would have been great, but there was no way to know he was quitting on Miami or just done. Plus not clear if he can last in the playoff environment. Sure guys like Halliburton, SGA, Ant, Cade, or Tatum would be ideal but none of those guys will be available anytime soon. Maybe Cleveland decides to move on from either Garland or Mitchell, but they both also have flaws are not slam dunks. Maxey would also be a good consideration, but he has been so streaky and his size makes him a liability on defense.

Best bet is see how they guys play in their playoff run and if they are able to use those lessons to improve next year. Literally every one of the young core still has time to learn/improve from a playoff run, so let's give them that.

Where did you get defense with giddey? He’s basically as bad as anyone in the league. His only value is for bad teams, he has no value to a team that wants to win.

That’s fine, but given the choice between cam on his deal and giddey it’s not a decision
