Which demographics are you speaking of?

Lived in Austin for 15 years. There were some shenanigans during that time but Austin residents don't make plans to leave town during that week. Anyone that told you that is lying, they're just afraid of their own shadow, or you made it up.

It sounds like the white kid put his hands on the black kid - either pushed him or grabbed him to forcibly remove him from the school’s tent. Doesn’t justify the unequal response by the black kid. I wonder if girls were around. The white kid was showing off as a tough guy and the black kid was embarrassed. It didn’t need to be a fight - who cares about something so small.

Disproportionate and irreasonable force is not self defense. Go to prison.

Nobody except a thug pulls a knife out over a seat argument and ends someones life with a plunge to the chest just because he was touched. He's carrying around a knife for self defense? It's more like he's carrying around a knife to start some stuff when he gets mad. What a punk!

    This guy is bad news.

I'm not 100% about the law, but I don't think it's illegal to have a knife at a school event if the blade is under 5.5 inches. I don't know anything about the knife he stabbed the other kid with, but I believe that as long as he had his parents permission and the blade was under 5.5 inches he's legally allowed to have a pocket knife (blade under 5.5 inches) in his possession.

Mentally ill does not mean thug.

No dog in this hunt, just want to point out that there’s a difference.

I’m not seeing the connection to the Democratic Party that the OP insinuates. Was the argument over health care being a right or something?? Was the football player planning to stage an insurrection on the Frisco city counsel???

I don’t understand how the two national parties have anything to do with a high school track meet stabbing.

(oh wait…. One kid was black and other was white??… okay got it now)

What would have happened if the kid went to his car and grabbed a modified AR15 with a bump stock and 100 round mag instead of only having access to a knife?

Yes bad people in the world sometimes go off the edge and commit murder. Sometimes it’s over nothing. Sometimes people shake babies to death, or kill their spouses over nothing but a bad day. Evil in this world isn’t going away and it sucks. We live in a sometimes dangerous world because humans are capable of the worst atrocities.

The football players parents I know are hurting and the community in Frisco I’m sure is wanting what they see as justice or some retribution.

However no political or societal enemy you can blame will bring back this child. I’m sorry this happened to them and as a parent myself I can only imagine what they are feeling.

But blaming “the Democrats” is just going to make matters worse. Especially since Democrats if they had their way would enact policies in Texas that would make it more preventable for Karmelo Anthony in this case to turn a single murder into a mass murder situation which this could have been had he had access to the firearms that Texas Republicans would encourage Karmelo Anthony to have access to with no regulation or safety training needed.

If you look at this situation and decide it’s a good idea to blame Democrats you are objectively part of the problem in our society.

Violence is just glorified these days. From the deadly protests in portland to the people that are pumping up that Luigi clown. For some reason deadly violence is justified by quite a few sectors of society. Even this high school track guy is getting cash in a go fund me.

The young man didn't deserve too die, but there is more to the story than what the mom is stating...

I was an all state high jumper in 85.
Been to Texas relays State championship and Penn relays.
Never saw anything out of the norm.
But that was 40 years ago.
    Times have changed.
