The top 1% have been doing this since the start of our republic.

Every accusation is a confession with these guys. They think that "we are flooding the zone with conservative dollars" so someone on the left must be doing this as well. That someone is Soros and they have marketed him as the evil liberal "industrialist" whatever the f*ck that is. Soros has become the SCW go-to boogeyman. When the SCWs needs a scapegoat, they trot out Soros.

Thus, when I see SCWs throw out the Soros name I know that they are not being serious.

Are you saying Soros hasn't been doing this?
Difference is Musk is doing this for the other side now. Without all of the violent protests.

    No, I am not.

    Soros has been doing this.
The Koch Brothers have been doing this.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker has been doing this.
The tech bros (Musk, Zuckerberg, Thiel, Bezos) have been doing this.

    Billionaires Buying Elections: Congressional Races

Just 150 billionaire families alone spent almost $1.4 billion on the 2024 election cycle by the end of August, according to a new study by Americans for Tax Fairness (ATF) that shows the attempted big-money takeover of American democracy is accelerating. That eye-popping figure already exceeds the amount contributed by nearly 700 individual billionaires in the entire 2020 campaign, with over two months of traditionally expansive spending left to go before Election Day 2024 that will undoubtedly push the total even higher.

The issue is with Citizens United. It let them do it without any guardrails. Citizens United was the catalyst for this mess. I wonder if Roberts and Kennedy wished they had a do over on that decision.

This is nothing new - the Republicans had the Koch Brothers pouring massive amounts of money into politics for decades.

Both parties have been overly compromised by billionaires - Musk, Soros, Ricketts, Griffin, Koch, Bloomberg, Bezos, Gates, Mellon.

Most of them give to Republicans - but quite a few support Democrats as well.

Agreed, but Soros paying bail for BLM is a new twist.

I'm waiting for a conservative billionaire's twist on what Soros is doing.

8 of the top 10 billionaire donors gave money exclusively to the Republican party this past cycle. Kamala literally ran on a billionaire tax which would've hurt her donors the most

Democratic donors dont demand policy concessions in the same way that Republicans do. Musk is firing any individuals who gave him trouble in the past. The head of the FAA, DOT, FDA, SEC have all been fired cuz they went after Musk in the past

Elon musk is literally firing hundreds of thousands of individuals and steering government that typically went to NASA into businesses and these people have audacity to talk about Soros lol

Roberts and Kennedy check their Cayman bank accounts and decide that they are good.

I honestly think those guys actually care about the country. I'm still pissed Kennedy retired when he did. There must have been some dirt on him. The only two Justices I think are totally corrupt are Thomas and Alito.

    and likely untrue.

George Soros injected "$33 million" into Black Lives Matter.

I am sure that with a little superficial digging that one find a SCW billionaire who donated to pro-life groups who had members who sought 2nd amendment solutions to abortion providers.

There's corruption everywhere and they're the ones more upfront about being underpaid for their stature.

There's hordes of millionaire lobbyist locusts in Washington sitting at a sushi conveyor belt of pork and excess, and we expect these Federal appointments making at least a tenth less per year to uphold the mythical standards of the constitution set by our Founding Fathers from Mount Olympus...for life

Biden swore off making money from stocks as part of his political brand, which left him open to attacks on his son.

What does keeping up with the Joneses mean in Washington?

Maybe Pelosi can give us some pointers on making due with the salary of House Leader emeritus

The difference is only one party has put up legislation, and passed it out of a chamber of Congress to gut the financial influence they can make, and has major presidential level candidates out there making their primary focus on taxing billionaires.

Had Kirstin Sinema, and Joe Manchin been any two other normal Democrats, we'd be living in a world where HR1 would have passed the Senate as well, and while it might not have completely overturned Citizens United, it would have done quite a bit to reverse the corruption that the REPUBLICANS on the Supreme Court. NO DEMOCRATS on the Supreme Court voted for that decision.

So I know its cool for folks to do the whole both sides thing, but if we are being honest here... YES.... there are SOME Democrats in the tank with big billionaire and corporate interests... .however its not even close to equal, and we really do fail here when we entertain these BS arguments and gaslighting that people like Raining Threes and Spaceghost put out there to try and muddy the waters on behalf of Trump and the placating to the billionaire oligarchs.

Lets do better than this please.
