I just see us with Tari or Jabari making as much of an impact on defense and better spacing on offense. And at this point ego shouldn’t matter. I get not benching FVV or Green. Amen brings the same, whether off the bench or as a starter and it just makes more sense to let him come off the bench alongside Aaron and with Jabari or Tari than what we’re doing now imo.
Man, what happened to KJ Martin? He was looking like a promising young player at times here and had some pretty good numbers. He just fell off massively.
I think Tari needs to start. I have liked JSJ's play lately, but I think Tari just brings more. The Rockets do well with Amen on the court (whether Amen is a starter or not) because he's probably their best player at the moment. It is easier to get Amen more minutes starting. I don't think there is a really good reason that Brooks and Sengun shouldn't be starting. To me, if ego isn't an issue, the decision should be between FVV and Green as they just aren't as good as Amen even though Amen creates spacing issues. The spacing FVV and Green provide just haven't helped the Rockets more than everything Amen provides. I'd start FVV over Green, but as much as I'm not a fan of Green's current level of play, I'd bench FVV before considering Amen.
Jabari should start now and in the playoffs as well. Tari will be awesome off the bench. Amen should be the starting SF all the way.
Yep, he was a cutter that had two decent efficiency, low-volume 3-point shooting seasons. The shooting was a small sample mirage. KJ Martin's really only good chance is if he can get on Denver.
If FVV is going to the bench, no way should Tari be the replacement. Bari needs to start then. A bad as FVV's shooting has been this season, opposing teams will never see FVV as a non-shooter like they would Tari. If you are going to replace a shooter like Fred when Amen and Alpi are already in the starting line up, you need a guy opposing defenses respect in terms of outside shot and Bari is easily seen as a more competent outside threat than Tari. Tari gives good chaotic energy that disrupts opposing offenses that is well suited for changing pace off the bench. Bari just seems like a more natural starter as he is a higher floor raiser with his length and shooting. He also has higher iq in a half court offense. Makes smarter passes and decisions in a slow half court setting
I agree. As long as Dillon is playing like he is now, Tari to the bench. Amen, Jalen, Dillon, Jabari, Sengun for a few games against real competition. If it works you can role in the playoffs. If not, put FVV back in, but play him off ball.
There actually is some merit in this. It would need to be limited not 3 or 4 starting units, probably just 2. The FVV lineup and the non-FVV lineup.
IDIOT and TLDW - too long DID watch That was fun edit: especially because I hardly ever get to watch my team (thanks, whatever they're calling the broadcasting network they created for the Rockets and Astros - and DISH/Sling told to FO) so it was like seeing them all show off for the first time
