Don’t have a problem with an 8 or 9 man rotation. I have a problem with Ime’s rotations. They have sucked all year and his stubborn use of FVV over 40 mins has slowed Amen’s inevitable evolution to PG. He is just not very good at rotations. Hopefully he will get better in his 3rd year as a head coach.

We should be among the same question about Ime. Will he rise or wil he continue to get outcoached in games? Laker adjusted to Houston by taking Jaxson Hayes out the game and going small. Ime jsut stuck to the game plan and let our double big lineup get torched from three by a Lakers small lineup.

I don't think that's a real question, if course he'll continue to get out coached.

When it comes to cussing out players at halftime and throwing your players under the bus after the game when they lose, he's elite.

When it comes to coaching defense, he's pretty good.

When it comes to everything else he's fairly bad.

This has been a common theme all year. Ime has to get better next year for us to be true contenders. Stone does need to provide a better balanced roster and hopefully an offensive guru as a bench coach. FVV should be a 20-25 min backup Pg if we keep him and hopefully a contract with a lot of ways out for the Rockets.

This is going to be a tough playoff run for us. And it should be. So many guys with no experience, such a deep west….I am just looking to see which of our potential foundational pieces shine for us. We may win a round, we may not. Either way, this is exactly where we need to be. We need an answer as to if this Jalen Alpi tandem is what we want to build around. My guess is it isn’t. But the playoffs will help answer that question.

We have FVV and he knows what it takes to be a champion so hopefully he lets those two in on the secret.

But you implied that shortening playoff rotations can’t be done by championship teams, and you were given proof otherwise.

THe magic formula for FVV during the 2019 championship run was for FVV to come off the bench & have a 15% usage rate.

No, I was just saying that he picked really terrible authorities to appeal to.

The suggestion was that we were wrong to complain about terrible rotations in the past by coaches who always failed in the playoffs, so we shouldn't complain about the current coach using terrible rotations.

Can a team win despite killing their players with short rotations and heavy minutes all season? Sure it's possible, but that doesn't make it smart

He may have only averaged 8 points on 39% shooting during their championship run, but….HE KNOWS WHAT IT TAKES!

Some posters really just like tinkering with rosters and believe they know best.

They are going to learn a hard lesson, both coast too often during the regular season, this will be an offseason of learning expectations.

My bigger concern is whether FVV and/or Dillon decide to shoot us out of the game in crunch time

How can he watch the spacing provided by the offense and not sense something is wrong?

Not sure about the first but you are dead on with the second.

Agreed. These playoffs are for evaluation on who stays (and how they need to improve) and who is traded.

Sam, this is a premium post. Your first ever.

Did anyone hear why Ime sat Jalen in the 4th Qtr of the LA Game? It made no sense

I have still not forgiven Udoka for not actively seeking for a better assistant on Offense.

I am not a Durant fan at this point because it would put a pressurized window on the team .......

Eh I feel it comes down to which of our other players step up and how Ime handles players not stepping up. I want him to be flexible enough to play Aaron, Jeff and even Jock or Reed if we need shooting, some steady veteran presence, energy or something that the others are not providing.

I think the two big lineup is a tell of what I think the coaches are planning to be exposed as a weakness in the playoffs with Alpi.

With Jalen it’s about being effective even when his shot isn’t going down or he’s defended by someone or a team scheme that keeps his speed to the rim at bay.

From a team perspective they seem to struggle the most against teams who can shoot from 3 and get hot. Ime seems to want to scheme much more on not allowing anything in the paint which has worked most of the time but we’ve seen this team get killed from 3 against teams that can shoot. I trust the defense but the issue is if you scheme to give up the 3 at times you damn well better be sure you can respond with 3’s of your own on the other end, and they aren’t as consistent as they need to be in the modern nba.
