Everyone is eligible for dpoy, including bigs. If only perimeter players are eligible then he probably would be top 20. Totally different situation.

OK then: Name 20 players regardless of position that merit a higher DPOY ranking based on merit than Dyson Daniels.

 

It would take a good amount of research to answer this, which is why i framed it more as a question. In terms of no brainers zubac, jarrett allen, bam, rudy, mobley, giannis, ihart, draymond, JJJ, AD, wemby, and i'm sure other bigs i'm not remembering. It's EXTREMELY rare for a non big to be a legit top 10 DPOY. Amen for example is waaaaaaay better than daniels and those 10-11 bigs (if eligible) would be probably above amen (and chet who's barely played). When i see "DPOY candidate", that to me means that it's someone who should legit be in the top 5 or so, and daniels has no top 10 case.
