It's interesting to me that Dubon is in LF and Altuve at 2b. Blanco is a fly ball pitcher, so it's a good chance to keep Altuve tuned up in the dirt, but with a RHP on the mound it's just another bad bat in the lineup. Dezenzo should be in LF IMO
With the Giants in town just trade Dubon to daddy and be done with it. God I hate it when mascots get at bats.
Dubon had a better OPS than Meyers, McCormick, and Dezenzo last season. He's also got a gold glove. He's sitting on 2 ABs for the season, he's going to get some here and there. A lot of outrage for game 4 of the season. Deep breaths...
I'm not saying it was good. But the rules say we have to start 9 hitters, and we have like 5 that we can count on.
This is more than just this year. We decided to keep 3 OF for 1 position, so it was already going to be hard to find them at bats. Now we are trying to get another one at bat's? We know what Dubon is, a crappy singles hitter (doesn't take pitches, doesn't steal). He has now started 2 games and McCormick and Dazenzo have started 1 between them. Dubon should be the 13th man on this bench. If you want to give him time when Rodgers (or whatever 2B we decide on), Pena, and possibly Paredes needs a break, fine, but don't shove him into the outfield. He isn't even that good in the outfield as it is. He gets time when he shouldn't because he is a good clubhouse guy. Just like Maldonado did. Mascots.
We are 4 games in and Paredes is already one of my favorite players on this team. That AB was amazing especially after a first pitch out the AB before.
