Hope Wilson is okay. That landing was scary. You could tell how scary it was because even the Purdue players looked mortified. One tough kid, that Wilson. What happened to Cryer's touch is an unsolvable mystery. Hope his stroke gets back in rhythm just as mysteriously! Thank you, Milos!
Houston sports and raising the freaking blood pressure goes together like pb and j I swear. What a game.
Tennessee is a very good team, but they can throw up some stinkers. In the last three months they have a 30-point loss to Florida, 11-point loss to Kentucky, and a 9-point loss to Florida in the conference tournament. Houston hasn't lost a game by more than five points all season and in the last four months they have lost only one game - a 1-point loss to Texas Tech in overtime. I'd like a break from these dramatic finishes. Hopefully, Cryer and Sharp can catch fire and Tennessee goes into a shooting funk. A breezy Sunday afternoon blowout victory would be nice.
So the whole world seems to think Uzan pushed off. I tend to agree that was a PCF, not for the arm, but for the shoulder. Smith effed up by trying to sell it so hard. He did not need to leave his feet like that. It made the center question whether what he saw was legitimate or not, and when the game hangs in the balance refs want to be absolutely certain before they blow a play dead. All that being said, the refs blew a couple of obvious calls against Houston prior to that (including an absolutely obvious basket interference) so you can play the "what if" ref game all the way back to the tip.
I would not classify Tennessee's 11-point loss to Kentucky as a stinker and the 9-point loss to UF in the SEC final was absolutely not a stinker. I seriously doubt UH could have stayed within 9 points of UF that game.
They shot 3/18 on threes against Kentucky in that loss. That's 16.6%. That stinks. They shot 8/26 on threes against Florida in the SEC tournament and only lost by nine points because they got 32 free throw attempts. Florida only shot 42% overall in that game, so it wasn't like they were on fire. I don't know why you think Houston would have had trouble staying within nine points of them. Florida just worked harder on the glass, outrebounding the Vols by 14.
https://kenpom.com/index.php Tennessee 5th best team by these metrics. 17th Ortg. 3rd Drtg. 8 of the top 9 are still in the tourney, Only Gonzaga out lol
What a moment. The design of which is now immortalized in history. I am still tired. But that's what you live for, those moments like that. Everyone will remember where they were when Milo dropped the ball in the basket. Woooo!!!
Yeah, there were some obvious calls all game that should have gone our way too, and one that should have at least been double fouls involving their dirty Draymond Green type player Trey Kaufman-Renn.
I’m having a hard time gauging the Coogars against the rest of the field. The scoring droughts and losing double digit leads have been worrisome. But they find a way to win and that can’t be denied. Hopefully Cryer will bounce back and Roberts will be able to establish an inside game. Go Coogs
Don't overthink it. Their last loss was a one point defeat to a very good tech team on February first. Before that, you have to go back to November to find a loss. This is a national champion type of team. that doesnt mean we are going to win it all but we are capable of doing the thing.
UH by a mile. Then Michigan State I suppose but they have little chance to win 3 more games. The 4 SEC teams and Duke can go jump in the lake.
