Yes - there is no Cole or Verlander at the top of the rotation.

Javier and Garcia are not going to be a factor this season.

Still, Valdez is probably the most underrated pitcher in baseball.

Hunter Brown had a terrible stretch last year, but the second half of the season was one of the 5-10 best pitchers in baseball.

Ronell Blanco was an exceptional #3-4 starter last year, and even with a regression is likely to be in the top 33% of 3-4 type starters.

Hayden W last year gave the Cubs 200 innings of work with a sub 4 era over the last three seasons, and is capable of giving quality innings as a #4-5 type starter.

That doesn't even get into McCullers, Arrighetti, Gusto and some arms likely to be moving up quickly in the system.

Last - there is a good chance the Astros end up trading for a starter at the deadline as well.

Any rotation can fall apart, but the Astros rotation has a good chance to be very good and a decent chance to be the best in the division.

    Why isn't SS 5 and 3B 6?

    One of life's many mysteries.

The google says that the SS position was originally a rover who played between the IF and OF. There is 51% chance that the google AI make that up.

Don’t worry. Not a big deal and nobody here knows you anyway. I have to remind myself of that sometimes.

3 happens most times because the 1B usually finishes a double play

The 2 at the end in this math is "double" play
