With only 8 games left, Rockets have a two-game lead over the Nuggets AND have the tie-breaker.

I think as long as they win at least one of the two remaining Lakers games, 2nd or 3rd is extremely likely.

We'll have to wait and see how 6/7/8 turns out between the Clippers/Warriors/TWolves.

Gotta love the way the Lakers lost tonight at the buzzer so that put us up 3.5 games ahead of them. We need to take care of business Monday night

They don't want to play in. I expect them to pass MEM at least.

It sucks for him, but this helps our chances if we do play them in the first round. Maybe we will finally beat the Warriors! :D

The last game of the season will determine the tiebreaker vs Denver.

they only play three times this season and they are tied 1-1.

No one should EVER risk the play in. A team can get hot as hell for one given night (especially if it's Minny/LAC/Memphis) that the Warriors would have to match up against in that 7v8 game. Tanking just to try to get us in the first round is SUPER risky because one loss and you're playing OKC.

No way GSW is going to lose any games on purpose. If Curry and Jimmy are healthy, they aren’t scared of any match-up. Don’t forget they have the best 6th man in the league and they wear their stripes proudly.

That's honestly the main reason I don't want to play them. I don't care about the matchup talent wise, I just know the refs are going to do what they always do for them. I don't want them or the Lakers for that reason specifically, as much as I'd LOVE to eliminate either one.

Yeah, I don't have high hopes for a Rockets playoff run (hopes, yes), but I want no part of a healthy Golden State. They have the experience and, in the playoffs, they will have the refs.

Did you see the injury news though? Losing GPIII is huge for them - I think he is their best G/F defender and defense has been the concern with them already. It seems like Draymond has found the fountain of youth and revitalized his defensive play but I don't know how sustainable it is and worry that a 35 yr old Draymond playing at a high level isn't going to be enough unless someone steps up as a high level guard/wing stopper.

Memphis just fired Taylor Jenkins. You can probably count them out of any long playoff run.

They need a Doug Christie. .... maybe Tony Allen?

I heard Tay Prince is with them.

I was thinking about this the other day, because of the play-in, I think it's actually more beneficial to be the 3rd seed and know exactly who you will be playing at the 6th seed and can gameplan in advance accordingly. I noticed last year that it was almost a disadvantage as the 1 and 2 seed not finding out who you will play until a day or two before the series start. Under ideal circumstances as the 1 and 2 you would be favoured no matter what and shouldn't care who you end up with, but in the west where even the 7, 8, 9, 10 seed can be dangerous, I think the extra preparation can be beneficial.

If we do play the Warriors just undercut every Steph 3 as an homage to their strategy against Harden.

You mean the best 6th, 7th, and 8th Wo/Men in the league.
