Ralph Sampson is a Hall of Famer and Jalen Green passed him in Points for 6,000 in this game and passed Rockets Favorite Vernon Maxwell, Hall of Famer Moses Malone on Rockets Points, Jalen Green has more points than Hakeem Olajuwon at his same age.

Hakeem Olajuwon longevity in points is on another level, it will be tough to catch Hakeem Olajuwon, long healthy Career is needed.

Jalen might finish up in top 20 all time career points and people will still call him Corey Brewer...

You know what’s funny about the idiotic Corey Brewer comps? Brewer scored 7k points over 3 seasons. Green already has 6k. He’ll easily eclipse Brewer’s total total next season.

The lack of improvement in efficiency is concerning, but his advanced metrics like BPM, VORP and WS/48 have all improved substantially from last season. He is clearly a better player, but not a more efficient player unfortunately.

efficiency doesn’t matter on him nor the Rockets for his role…he takes atleast 2 grenades a game, just because he’s the only player who can create his own shot

also him getting better whistle would also help …how many times does Ime put him back in the game for 2 for 1 possessions and then sit him right back down

Agree that efficiency isn't the end-all be-all and that he takes the most "tough" shots on the team. Ideally you'd like to see both him and Sengun be closer to 60% TS and if we want a top 5 offense eventually our leading scorers have to make some improvements there. Noticing now that no rotation player on the Rockets is shooting a TS of 60% unfortunately, which definitely matches the eye test lol.

But would it matter for you if it was Cam instead?

Our winning % when Jalen is efficient vs when he isn’t shows that efficiency is likely a lot more important than some might want to believe.

This season Houston is 18-3 in games where Jalen has a TS% over 60.

They are 21-5 in games where his TS% is over 57.

They are 19-13 in games where his TS% is lower than 50.

Of course efficiency is important. The Jalen apologists keep trying to downplay this. Sure it's not be all end all. But it is one of the more important measurements. Most elite perimeter scorers have TS% at high-50s to low-60s. Jalen's TS% has been consistently hovering around 54%. There's a name for high-volume-low-efficiency shooters: "chucker." To be fair, he seems to have been gradually improving since January. Let's hope he will eventually turn the corner sooner than later.

Jalen is good this season but I still wouldn't make Jalen the decision maker of a team, I would make him a finisher, Udoka wants him to both decide and finish, this is hard for him

Yeah even then we can only go by how the league is right? He's a miles ahead on his draft class in scoring totals

If he pays his whole career with Houston and they never go get a better 1dt option he’ll surpass Dream with his durability. We haven’t even seen the best of Jalen. He still hasn’t had a breakout year yet. We all know that. He’s still getting better and thei4r are thing he needs to get better al at. We all know he’ll be at least be a 25 ppg scorer sometime soon.. Jalen will probably have at least a ten year career. Hes in year 4. And just turned 23. We gotta assume the next 6 years his averages will keep getting better..

He’s athletic but he doesn’t really depend on his athleticism to score. Not like Amen so far or even Francis.

Long term wise, I definitely worry more about Sengun than Jalen

I still put Cade, Sengun and the new and improved Mobley over him.
