Slacked off??? You have to suffer thru a decimated starting rotation... an everyday lineup that is serviceable... but past its prime... and a bullpen that, for the most part, had pitched less collective innings than Tim Redding's career. If you told me that the team on paper at the start of the season would have gotten to within one game of the World Series, and lost to a very very good team... I would have been happy with that. The fact that they did NOT have the same team on paper... and they still got this far... is all the more memorable.
This loss stings almost as much as Stockton eliminating us on my birthday, but I am damn proud of this Astros team for what they have done the last two months. It took a lot of guts, pride, and tenacity to get as far as they did. That said, go Red Sox. Barring a 9th inning miracle...
Well Astros had their chances in Game 1, 2, and 6. Bullpen lost this series for us. Just last season we had the best bullpen. Man we can never have 2 things that go together. No ham no burger.
This is getting ugly. The Cardinals deserve it. We don't. Unfortunately for us, we only had 3 pitchers when normally we have 5. If Clemens comes back and Beltran signs, this team will be better next year.
Oh well. I can't be too mad. Yes it's disappointing but the Astros really played over their heads the latter part of the year. You still have to be proud of this team no matter what.
I NEVER ENVISIONED THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOUBLE PLAY LETS GO!!!!!!!!.............................................................................................IT'S OUER SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, that's the ballgame. Let's hope they can resign Beltran and see how we do with our full pitching staff coming back. Clemens lost his concentration and our bats were, frankly, what they normally are under pressure.
well, at least we were sort of up the middle there. the run was fun, and even though i am nothing but pissed off and sad now i'd never trade the 36-10 run and beating the braves and getting to game 7 for anything. this was amazing and i thank the guys for making it fun the last 2 months.
Grand Slam by Craig in the top of the 9th. Roy O mows them down in the bottom of the 9th for the W. Who believes???
For all that is good in the world today. I pray that the Astros will pull off one of the greatest comebacks in LCS history. A day after the Boston/New York series, everyone in the country will be talking about how the Astros left for dead with only three outs and bottom of the order out somehow pulled out a victory. Lets Go Astros!!!!!! I believe!!!!!!
This is looking bleak. For those of you who remember, I am sure you will agree with me that this does not hurt nearly as much as 1980 or 1986.
good attitude francis4perez, life goes on man. but you really dont think francis should be president do you?
Agree 100%. If you lived through 1986 and that Sixth Game, there's no way you would say this is the worst you've felt as a fan. We're going to do this right freaking now, by the way. Curse of Don Denkinger.
