    I have GSW going 9-1 to finish out the year which will give them 50 wins which could get them as high as 4 or 5. We need to either be 2 or 3 to stay out of their and OKC's bracket. If we drop to 4 or 5, I think it is very possible we meet GSW in the first round. We absolutely need this win tonight and the 2 Utah games as well. Phoenix is going to be a tough one on the road and they will be absolutely gunning for us.

    I think rockets take 2nd seed and warriors take 5 , cause I think Memphis has a harder schedule

    The Warriors finishing 9-1 would really be burning the candle. Doubtful IMO.

    Yeah, even if they get Curry back tonight, I see at least 2 losses for them the rest of the way.

    The upside is they play several teams the Rockets are competing with for playoff seeding. So if the Warriors do close the season that strong, it still helps us.

    I hope we finish as the 2nd seed and...

    GSW, Denver, and the Lakers are the 3rd, 6th, and 8th seeds, in any order.

    Didn't realize Curry was out. If he remains out they might not make 50.

    We might not make 50 - our final stretch is brutal, maybe some won't be trying to win by then and we get some bunnies, but IMHO we are only favored to win 3 more games.....maybe 2 more with Phx but only barely if at all.

    We need 4 wins to hit 50.....

    I want all the smoke.

    Give me GSW 1st round, Lakers 2nd round, Thunder WCF and Celtics for the ship.

    I do not understand why do they need to get 9 wins......8 should suffice for them.

    It would take a pretty big collapse to not win 50.

    ATL
    @UTA
    @phx
    @LAL(B2B)
    UTA
    OKC
    @GSW
    @LAC
    @LAL
    DEN

    That's their remaining schedule. They should win at least half of those.

    This fan base talks itself into depression so efficiently.

    We still control our own destiny, and the last 5 games are crucial.

    Get through them 3-2 or better, and we have all the momentum and confidence heading into the first round. Go 2-3 or worse, and we're probably quick work for a more experienced opponent.

    I'm actually excited to watch that stretch, because we will probably play against those teams in the playoffs. It's a tough test, but if we get through it, I will like our post season chances a lot more.

    Exactly. It's a time to be excited. As a fan base we haven't had high stakes like this since 2020. And it's all led by 23 and under guys. This was like one of the best case scenarios our fan base thought of when we were rocking the WOW big three. We thought we'd be at best mid by now in a complete teardown rebuild like where the Blazers are now.

    But nope, we the god damn 2 ,seed and people are depressed we don't got a Wemby or Luka.

    I'd love 50 wins. But I didn't think we would win 46 in the brutal West. We're already ahead of schedule. This is all icing on the cake. Also, it's wild to me that there are still some people on this board (not the poster I am responding to) who are complaining and pointing fingers and all of that. We as Rockets fans should all be over the moon with the season we've had. Two years ago this time all we were doing was looking at mock drafts and running ping pong ball simulators as we were ready to get another top 3 pick (that ended up being 4). Now we're asking ourselves if we can hold on to the #2 seed in the West with 10 games left in the season and who is the best match up for us in the 1st round? If you're feeling sour for whatever reason, just take a second and reflect on that. The turnaround has been absolutely insane.

    I look forward to every game and see almost all of them. I love our team, love our progression, and love our future. Part of the fun of being a fan is playing GM and talking with friends on what the coach should do. Being critical of mistakes is not being a pessimist. I picked the Rockets to win 50 games this year and about half the GARM were thinking that was unreasonably optimistic.

    I do get frustrated with Ime who I think is a good, but stubborn coach, that may only be able to take us as far as his overinflated ego will allow. The goal is a championship and I watched every game through the Silas’ years, because I love to watch all aspects of basketball including re-building and the development of young players. I will hate it when the season is done for the Rockets and will be upset if we piss away a chance at moving past the first round, because of the coach’s love for one very overrated player. I recognize I might be wrong about my views on FVV and our chances this year, but I enjoy the process nonetheless. Everybody was crying for a superstar. We got one and he spent a quarter of the year coming off the bench and most the rest of the year standing in the corner on offense. That is on Ime.

    I think we go 4-0 over the next 7 days and can breathe a little.

    I mean every possible playoff opponent will cause some problems for this team given they all have more playoff experience, and most have a more established late game closer than the Rockets. Honestly, it doesn't matter what seed the Rockets end up. Even the Clippers who the Rockets owned in their prior match ups this season now have a reasonably healthy Kawhi which changes that match up.

    We don't know how these guys will handle the added attention to detail that happens in the playoffs with match ups on both ends, nor the pressure of the games. They were okay in 2 play in games but there were a lot of potential red flags in those games.

    We just need them to get the chance to play in the playoffs and see how they and Ime respond to everything. Honestly, even if they get beat in round 1, that will provide so much more information for Stone and the FO to frame a next stage of roster management.

    Don't agree with this.

    vs Hawks (W)
    vs Jazz (W)
    vs Suns (W - we have owned the Suns this year)
    vs Lakers (L B2B)
    vs Jazz (W)
    vs Thunder (L)
    vs Warriors (L)
    vs Clippers (W)
    vs Lakers (W)
    vs Nuggets (L)

    I think we are favored in atleast 5 of the remaining ten games and we can easily beat the nuggets or the warriors if our star players step up.
