Sengun missed layups and free throws hurt our chances as well...if we can't establish an inside presence then we're forced to win with jumpshots. Jalen kept us in the game...should've benched Sengun for Amen earlier in the 4th.
What's sad is Alpi will get the ball at the top of the lane unguarded and doesn't seem to know what to do. This is his biggest problem.
Love when JG aggressively driving to rim, coaching staff gotta get better and getting in his ear about that his FT shooting has improved but he’s back to rushing his FT line jumper and off balance … needs to be heavily corrected this summer
When he has the ball inside the arc and outside of the ft line without a defender close he looks like a deer in the headlights. Its so odd.
Either way he didn't brick 2 fts since he could have made that 3rd shot. Jalen is an 82% ft shooter the brickers on the team don't include him.
Even with all those bricks you are blaming on him he was 11/14 from the line so why is it his fault? The game is 4 quarters long you realize that yes or no? Why do you act like nothing players do matter except for the last 15 secs? If only Jalen knew teGlide only cared about his last couple posessions he would have rested the entire game and just come in the last minute.
The point of my was post was his fundamentals went out the window after we got it to within 3. He had 3 open middies and where we was leaning forward or to the side for no reason. His rhythm was completely off so I'm not surprised he bricked a crucial free throw after that. After that miss, the game was officially over.
Jalen has always been bad at mid range fundamentals have nothing to do with it Mid range is called the worst shot in basketball for a reason. In fact good fundamental players minimize their mid range if they are bad at it because it is so hard to make. Jalen missed his freethrow because he already made 10/11 and he is an 82% ft shooter. Odds are he was gonna miss a ft any attempt now since was already hitting fts above his average. If you discount the last attempt which was an intentional miss then he was 11/13 or 85% which is around his career average of 82%. You are overanalyzing things when Jalen is just performing to his average level of play. "fundamentals went out" is such a nonsensical argument fundamentals are core skills you learn and they never go away as they are embedded in your muscle memory. You think Jalen has alzheimers and forgets how to dribble and then relearn it again after a posession? LOL just stop trying to over analyze. We lost this game cuz Fred bricked his shots and the team bricked their fts. Jalen has little to do with the loss he did his part. You are hyper fixated on Jalen's missed ft after he made 10/11 but forgetting Amen missed all his fts, Adams was 2/4 on fts, FVV made 2/12 shots and Sengun 5/8 from ft as well. If everyone shot their ft at Jalen's level we would have won this game so if you are blaming Jalen for one bricked ft your analysis is wrong plain and simple.
Not just outside of the FT line. Recently, he's been as close as 10-ft away, unguarded. He's got to fix his hands, his mind or whatever is broken. A so-called All-Star player who's lost 10-12-feet from the basket unguarded is a fraud. On one play tonight, Alpi was on the baseline guarded only by Westbrook. Instead of attacking the mouse, he held the ball over his head 2-3 seconds, which gave WB and the defense time to react. He got away with it on that play, but his indecisiveness is probably a flaw that won't go away.
Alpe basically got in because of the season record and Udoka should have been that All Star. All Star does not automatically mean Superstar.....it is just another starter with better stats.
I’m 99% sure he is playing with broken/sprained fingers. The dude is constantly grabbing his hands during the game.
