tbh CJ bombed this interview. Said he stopped playing baseball growing up because it was boring. Why would you say that on a MLB broadcast? and then he said was both a Dodgers fans and an Astros fan. The Apple TV announcers had a good laugh at that.
I'd rather have CJ bomb interviews and call baseball boring on a baseball broadcast while wearing baseball gear in a baseball stadium (which is hilarious btw) than what he was doing last offseason. It seems this offseason CJ has been more lowkey and staying in Houston to train as opposed to traveling the world with Micah Parsons last year.
I can't begrudge a man still cheering for his childhood team, the man grew up in LA. But him showing up in Astros gear and connecting with the city is pretty cool, IMO.
He was coming off 2 1/2 straight years of intensive work at the age of 22 so I can see taking advantage of a little time off. But he put as much effort into his time off as he did his work. I like the more laid back approach, but that's because of MY personality. He has to find what works for him which he has shown is to win.
Obviously traveling around the world doesn't work for him professionally. He worked hard for two years and then decided to take some time off? Really, SMH with a mindset like this he will never reach his potential.
My point is he's just learning how to relax during his time off. I'm an expert now. It's a full time assignment.
