That literally does not and cannot happen (due to federal laws and broadcast contracts), outside of the Emergecy Broadcast System, if you're within the Houston Texans viewing area you're getting the game live on both tv and radio with no interruptions. You're living in the past or are confused and making **** up, sorry.
I'm not getting Houston signals since I don't live in the smaller Houston area. But sports networks certainly think I do. I live close enough to be in a market area, but not close enough to get a local broadcast signal. I suppose it's different for those who can tune in to the local broadcasts.
Near the Louisiana border. Interesting trivia, I live in an area once disputed by Spain and France, but so worthless they didn't bother fighting over it. So we were a refuge for criminals from both.
Oh hell, I thought you were Houston folk. Your story kinda checks out now. ...and Happy (early) Birthday
So honestly, you think they would plan on him being the 2B and give him zero innings there in spring? Ok
If you’re out of the Houston coverage area, you really should invest in the single-team MLB app package on a fire stick or Roku.. It is the best of the major streaming sports apps, though NBA is catching up. I know it isn’t free, but $130 for the year takes away a lot of stress over when and how to watch for the cost of 1-2 dinners out these days. For those in Houston, the combo of that and a VPN woks too (I’ve had StrongVPN for years all over the world).
My problem is I'm inside the Market area, but outside the ability to receive the local broadcast signals. I only have one option for cable which is reliable and it does not include Space City. I have it strictly as my internet provider, but they will soon charge as much for that as a basic cable package. This is why I'm a proponent of exploiting a straight to consumer eTicket streaming concept for each team so you can decide which product you want to pay for instead of being at the mercy of some egghead deciding for you and generally deciding poorly. I would love a fiber optic connection option (since I was building it out in he 90's), but it seems that's only for spoiled city folk.
Brendan Rodgers, former #3 overall pick and player for the Rockies for years. Astros think they might be able to help him break out since Coors may have messed with his approach.
I could see Houston keeping both Dezenzo and Smith down and giving McCormick, Hummel, Singleton, Meyers, and Rodgers 6-8 weeks to save their careers while they let Dezenzo, Smith, Melton, Whitcomb, and Matthews play in AAA to remove all doubt that they’re ready to come up. Those 5 guys match up pretty well with the roles, with Smith in RF, Matthews at 2B, Melton in CF, Dezenzo in an oft-used bench role playing the corners, and Whitcomb as a lesser-used utility player who can also pinch hit and pinch run (although Whitcomb may be used better in a trade to a team that sees more in him).
I hear you. You might try a VPN. I’ve had StrongVPN for years in many countries and it is very easy to use and works great. Bonus is that some services like Netflix have different catalogs in different countries.
I had VPN for a couple of years, but the only way to cancel was to join an app I did not want to join. I basically cancelled my Paypal account to stop the extortion by the VPN. They actually tried to say they sent it by mail and had proof of delivery to get Paypal to pay the bill. Of a VPN subscription?
I am VERY excited to see Cam kick ass for the next several years. I have not been this excited since Yordan was destroying AAA, looking each day to see if he was bring brought up. That said I am fine with him breaking camp with the big league team, or learning RF in Sugar Land or Corpus - as long as Dezenzo is on the big league roster. Diaz, Walker, Paredes, Pena, Altuve, Alvarez, Meyers, Smith, and Dezenzo are the 9 players who earned starting spots this spring, or before it even started. This isn't the 9 they will use, but the 9 I want. But if it is, who plays 2b, 3b, and LF? They were going to move Paredes for Arenado. Why can't that happen now? Smith is going to have a big adjustment as it is. Give him whatever comforts you can- play him at 3b. My second choice would be to move Altuve back to 2b, even if it's a negative move defensively. Then the rooks get the corner OF spots. What I expect them to do is give 2b to Rodgers and start Smith in the minors which has its advantages and I'm perfectly happy with.
Like the other glove Jake, Marisnick. That guy was the perfect ball player everywhere other than at the plate.
Not a bad thought. At least based on a bunch of “fluff” pieces, there’s a few gamers in that mix that should actually work well for them all to push each other. Whitcomb is basically bizarro world Dubon— if you put Whitcomb’s power and speed with Dubon, you’d have a superstar (basically peak Ben Zobrist with a gold glove). Instead they are both bench players.
I’m fairly high on Whitcomb, and I really hope at some point this season he is given a solid run of 200 pa playing everyday in the majors. His defense is very underrated at this point based on a throwaway comment from the GM and one awful game where he made 4 errors. He’s not a stellar defensive player but he can be solid at 2B or 3B and would be plus in LF or 1B with enough time there. His AAA numbers last year were enough to warrant a long look.
I think they will start Cam in AAA. Chas, Dezenzo will be sharing RF, with Chas backup CF and Dezenzo backing up LF/3B/1B. Dubon will be util INF/5th OF I think all they are deciding on now is between Singleton/Hummel for lefty bench bat 13th position player. Singleton has the edge in power, obviously. Hummel can play LF, 2B, but I think his value is also as third Catcher allowing Caratini's bat to be used more in that ph role and also Diaz on days off. I would take Hummel over Singleton. Still hoping Cam is starting RF, though.
I've heard he would be better off in AA facing more Major League ready pitching than at AAA where AAAA and rehabbing MLB pitching is found..
If we keep those guys in AAA for Cooper Hummel, Jon Singleton and Brendan Rodgers, I for one will not be happy. I'm all for a reclamation project...not 3.
