Kikuchi just got a 3/$63M deal and you have Framber at 3/$65M? If he would take 3/$90M, I would do that.
Like I said, I know those are lowball numbers compared to what he will likely get (my guess for now is he will get something like $160M/yrs). But I am not optimistic about Framber beyond the next couple of seasons.
Looks like Guillorme and Gamel have not made the opening day roster. Smith and Dezenzo still in the running. My guess is Smith starts in AAA. Rodgers opening day 2B. Singleton is released. Dezenzo is the opening day RF, Chas backs up all 3 outfield spots, and Hummel is a lefty platoon option with Meyers. If Smith rakes and Rodgers doesn't hit, I'd guess by mid-May we see Paredes shift to 2B and Smith takes over at 3B. My prediction is Dezenzo doesn't lose his starting spot this season.
Great news on Wesneski I'd love for Guillorme and/or Rogers to accept a demotion to AAA, for insurance purposes.
A bummer to lose both Gamel and Guillorme but I understand why. I would’ve rather dropped Singleton and Zach Short.
I wonder if that means Guillorme and Castro are going to go to Sugar Land or if they’ll be released if nobody gets hurt in the next 3 days. So I guess the position player roster is down to 4 guys for 3 spots: Singleton, Dezenzo, Rodgers, and Smith. I think Rodgers now has a really strong chance to make the roster. I also think Smith is in and that the last spot just depends on whether they think they can get Dezenzo everyday play as the 10th man or if they’ll send him down and keep Singleton. Hummel is still a dark horse. LF Altuve 3B Paredes DH Alvarez 1B Walker C Diaz RF Smith 2B Rodgers SS Pena CF Meyers Bench: Dubon, Caratini, McCormick, Singleton/Dezenzo
If it were up to me (as it should be) I'd start Rogers and see what happens. You have Dubon sitting there as a perfectly cromulent "known entity" fallback plan, and that's the role he's best suited for.
