The likelihood is slim but not impossible. But I'm interested in the myriad optionality available to Rockets. Drafting Cooper Flagg is one alternative but would Flagg get starters minutes on a Rockets team with championship aspirations next season? If Rockets need a win now player, then how many teams would give up their star for Cooper Flagg? And which of these superstar players can magnify success of current core in Ime's system? Does JJJ, Giannis or Evan Mobley take this Rockets team immediately to OKC and BOS level of contention?
I'd guess Flagg will have a similar impact to Amen in his first year except his offense may be a little more effective.
Yeah. Cooper would start immediately for the Rockets. He is the real deal. I would trade all the picks and anyone on the team other than Amen, Sengun, and Jalen for Flagg.
Cooper Flagg is a win now or any time player. The rockets would draft Cooper Flagg. The only question is what they would do to the roster after that. But, it honestly wouldn't matter the first year since your future best player would be 18.
There's only two scenarios, and there's absolutely no inbetween: - Ime will bury him on the bench - Ime will play him 36 minutes a night unwarranted even when it's obvious he's a hindrance to the team
If you get the #1 pick you draft Flagg, and you start him. Work it out from there, but he's not a low level Risacher type #1 pick. More of a Cunningham/ Banchero level - someone worth investing in and starting right away. But the bonus is he wouldn't be required to be "the guy" immediately.
Umm….you draft Flagg? Duh. Frankly, I’m not trading a top 3 pick in this draft for virtually anything.
What if the rockets get #2 or #3? Flagg is a no-brainer. Is there a 2nd or 3rd no-brainer for the Rockets in the draft?
You draft Flagg. Period. And since when have JJJ and Mobley become superstars? Trade Flagg for Mobley? What are you smoking?
