I'm happy with this. He's not a world beater, but he's better than hoping Blake Fisher will have a huge step up in his year 2, or expecting a rookie to step in to that role and be good enough in his first season. This being a 1 year deal, they should know by next offseason if Fisher is going to be good enough to take over at LT. If not, find another solution, or resign Cam and try and find another rookie to develop.
I get the sense OT is going to be addressed in round 1 or 2 to find a long term replacement with Blake Fisher being the other OT. Robinson is a good one year let the rookie develop kind of signing. He plays well and he can get paid in offseason next year, he doesn’t and he’s out again. Was bad in Minny, but did come when it seemed like the wheels were starting to fall off up there. More competition is always a great thing as well
On paper, the offensive line looks like this: Robinson at LT, Tytus at LG, Patterson at C, Tomlinson at RG, and Blake at RT. It’s not flashy, but it’s an improvement. I still expect them to draft a tackle and a guard, but I have no idea what their plan is for the first round.
I think that signing Robinson gives us the freedom to use our first on a playmaker at WR, although I think it's tough to pass on Kelvin Banks if he's available when we pick.
I think they go WR in round 1. Great value there and no guarantee that Tank ever recovers from the injury.
I'm hoping it is an improvement. As for the draft, I think they troll us all and go defense. Seriously though, I think it will be WR or TE at 25
Joe Mixon was referring to the Cam Robinson signing. Matthew Golden was responding to reports he’s had a visit with Texans. Golden has hinted numerous times he’d love to play for the Texans.
