on I see it the same way. Alpi is already a top-25 guy at 22 years old. If he can just bring his efficiency back to where it was last year and improve his FT shooting, he can be a top-15 player. Amen is on a star trajectory. He may never score enough to be a 1st or 2nd-team ALL NBA player but he can be a top-10 advanced metrics guy due to the superior defense and rebounding at his position. The Rockets might see Jalen as another guy who can be a top-25 player. I think that's unlikely but he is clearly improving and I won't hate it if they are patient and see how he progresses over the next few years. If we're going to build around those three players though, Stone will need to trade for some shooting. All three of those guys need good shooters around them to work offensively. I had high hopes for Reed Shephard and Cam Whitmore prior to this season but I don't think either guy will work out here. Our team is too good to develop flawed young players. I hope we trade them this off-season for better, established players.
Reed projects to be way better FVV. He isn't going anywhere and judging him based off of his production on a winning team that is currently #2 in the West is a disservice to him. Cam Whitmore is a different story entirely. Where Reed has the luxury of inexperience and when he does play he passes the eye test, Cam has neither. He looks exactly the same as last year outside of a slightly improved awareness in that he at times realizes he has teammates. Amen can project as a Kawhi Leonard like. Two way star that can average 22-24 PPG, 8-10 RPG, 5 APG and lock down defense. That's a top 10 player. SGA doesn't make a living off of 3s and Amen doesn't have to either. Jalen has progressed enough this year to give him another year. I still think he's a 6th man playing a starters role but maybe him and Jabari can take turns being "on" next year. Jabari is another one that isn't going anywhere regardless of what this board thinks of him. He's too valuable in breaking zones and small ball lineups.
If Alpi played in the 2nd and 3rd, it was minimal at best. I knew he played in the 1st and got benched, because I felt, he was not recovering. Ime put in Jabari and the defense got better. Philly was still hot, even with hands in their faces but the scoring slowed down.
I hope Alpi makes 3rd team All - NBA! However, it shows to me that the analyst do not watch the games, because Broussard was saying JJJ's game fell off from last yr but so did Alpi's. However, him making All - NBA would be good for him and the team.
so he played 6 minutes in the first quarter and it was all his fault. He also played 6 minutes in the 3rd but it was minimal. Make up your mind... just stop hating on our best player.. geez you move so many goal posts maybe you coulda helped kaimi fairbarin in the playoffs
We about to hit 1k pages while discussing how DD thinks Sengun is a terrible defender and how he should be traded while at the same time NBA pundits are starting to call for Sengun to make 3rd team all-NBA. Never been so happy to avoid the DD curse. As usual, those who side with DD get collateral reputation damage lol. DD, please, never start liking Sengun!
Sengun get pulled to try something different doesn’t mean that actually sengun sucks. He didn’t look that good on defense (no one did) but I feel like the main thing was that the 76ers were aggressively double teaming him and no one could hit a 3. His offense was neutralized, so we took him out and went into 5 out. We have a versatile team and I expect lots of different line ups but it doesn’t mean sengun sucks now. I think the team is well rounded and it could help in the playoffs and going forward. Hopefully the lack of top end talent doesn’t hurt us too much.
Congrats on this thread reaching 1k! Alpi is probably proud. Or did it not reach 1k pages yet? It’s only a matter of time…
