The latest teaser for The Toxic Avenger doesn't showcase the reboot's starry cast, but it does give a taste of the bloody mayhem to come, with the film's "freaky folk hero" dismantling a group of armed, hostage-taking extremists called the Nasty Lads at a restaurant. The Toxic Avenger franchise boasts four films, an animated TV show, a Marvel comic book series, a video game, and even a stage musical. What the franchise could never claim, however, is the participation of Hollywood stars — but that's changed thanks to writer-director Macon Blair's new movie. Produced by Legendary Entertainment (the folks responsible for the new Dune movies and the cinematic MonsterVerse), the film stars Elijah Wood, Kevin Bacon, Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Julia Davis, and Peter Dinklage, the latter of whom plays the titular crime fighter, a low-level janitor at a chemical factory named Winston Gooze. https://ew.com/movies/toxic-avenger...twitter.com&utm_term=651703fb3ba4d00001822a0e
Wow, I kind of remember the cartoons. It was right after Captain Planet or something This seems like a movie you want James Gunn to direct, but probably shouldn't because it'd probably feel the exact same as all the other comic book movies he's made.
he started out with troma. nsfw. he was the screenwriter for tromeo and juliet so i'd assume this was his idea:
Never understood the audience for this. Like... starving artist thespians? I think 11 people will watch it. Whatever live action crap they used to show on public access was atrocious. It was like ugly people dressed up as superheroes being filmed by their parents in a basement meets condom commercial.
Can't help you there, I never stooped low enough to watch public access. The 80's had some epic stupid/fun B-movies. Toxic Avenger was one of them.
Yeah I don't know about any movies, just what I saw on public access. Whatever that was (Troma) = super cringe.
