Trump never had universal tariffs during his first term. Trump had selected tariffs on specific industries which is completely different than what he's doing this term. Trump did not slap 25% tariffs on our neighbors during his first term on universal imports. Please stop embarrassing yourself and stick to basketball.

Bcz Trumps tariff policy in his first term was smart and calculated. He put tariffs on selected industries which were critical to national security. That's a very smart move and I gave major credit for that. Trumps first term trade policies were better than any president before him. The difference between this time and last time is he's putting tariffs on everything regardless of how it might effect consumers. America does not need to be manufacturing toaster ovens or making shoes. Those items are not high on the value chain. We do need to be building evs, solar panels, batteries and other critical industries.

We can agree they were smart. I can assure you, after sitting on the sidelines for four years, make no mistake his policies this time are indeed calculated. I’m confident we’ll be able to look back at the policy this time around and agree they were as good or better. Free trade is the end goal.
