Mavericks could be forced to forfeit Games

Just curious if anyone knows, can't they put players on injured reserve and apply for injury relief players, say from the pool of free agents? Doesn't make sense.

 

They have hardship exceptions and disabled player exceptions. But, those won't help because the Mavs are only like 50K below the hardcap. They can't sign any players without going over it regardless of if they are given an extra roster spot.

 

Can't they pull players from the G-League?

 

Because the Dallas FO is incompetent............but that was already known with the Doncic trade.

February 4, 2025: Traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Dallas Mavericks for Quentin Grimes and a 2025 2nd round draft pick ( was later selected). Dallas also received a trade exception Philadelphia also received a trade exception 2025 2nd-rd pick is more favorable.


Dallas took on about $4.9 million in additional salary with the Grimes - Martin trade and didn't leave themselves much Cap Space/Room to make roster moves when necessary.

 

Got the worse player and the worse contract, cannot make this up.

 

the tillmen should purchays the dallases and move them to katie. change the name from the mavericks to the tom cruise. win-win for everyone.

 

They already have their max of 3 two-ways. And if you read the article in the OP, the reason they might have to forfeit is bc two of those gleaguers are about to exhaust their maximum allowed NBA games, when they either have to go back to the gleague or get converted to a full contact.

they can’t be converted bc Mavs are up against a true hard cap.

 

Man, Quinten Grimes is a very good SG, he has finally gotten a chance to prove himself and is going to get PAID......

I assumed Dallas would get a top three pick for giving Doncic to the Lakers, but it was hard for me to see how they would miss the playoffs and qualify for the lottery. Looks like it might not be hard at all.

 

the owners are clearly purposely tanking the franchise's value. the nba should give the mavs automatic W's for games against non playoff teams as punishment and put them in the playin
