It’s Kelvin Banks for me. He is being mocked all over the place with him trending towards the end of the 1st now. Don’t really understand it.

    Harold Fannin, TE, Bowling Green.

He's undersized by a lot but is a matchup problem for defenses. He's intriguing to me and we might be able to snag him in the 3rd. He's purportedly not much for blocking but he's a far greater receiving threat than what we have at TE.

Nate Tice touched on it a few weeks ago, remember his dad Mike was an OL man and NFL HC, and ppl feel Banks is a guard in the NFL. He’s suited more for the interior and not the outside.

I think the concern with Banks at tackle is his arm length.

Why is it every year the Texans enter the draft where is is GLARINGLY obvious what position they are drafting for, and they sit in their alloted slot and wait for thir pick to come around.

Guarantee if they stay at 25 teams trade up to 23 and/or 24 and draft linemen out from under them. It is as regular an occurance for the Texans as the leaves sprouting on the trees in the spring.

Throw a curveball for once and trade up like 5 slots, Texans. Doesnt have to be to the top of the draft. Just do it by total surprise. Thanks.

Short shuttle time is way more important for OL than 40 time... but a player's mass (weight / height) can impact their short shuttle score as well.

Banks ranks up there with player's who have been successful at tackle IMHO.

The last time this happened we got jumped for Andre Dillard and ended up with Tytus. Say what you want about Tytus, but he’s on a different stratosphere to Dillard. Also that was like 5 years ago, and hasn’t happened since…

Maybe they want to take a WR or TE at 25 and then trade up to grab more picks for OL

I think we have three glaring needs, a left tackle, a dangerous WR, and a guard.

Here is the latest Mock Draft that I put together. With the Texans I am struggling with whether I should have Donovan Jackson or Grey Zabel at 25. I lean towards Zabel based off talent and upside, but I can see where the Texans go with Jackson instead because of his Big 10 experience.

    Pick Team Position Player School
1 Tennessee QB Cam Ward Miami
2 Cleveland CB Travis Hunter Colorado
3 NY Giants DE Abdul Carter Penn State
4 New England OT Armand Membou Missouri
5 Jacksonville WR Tetairoa McMillan Arizona
6 Las Vegas WR Matthew Golden Texas
7 NY Jets DT Mason Graham Michigan
8 Carolina Edge Jalon Walker Georgia
9 New Orleans Edge Shemar Stewart Texas A&M
10 Chicago OT Kelvin Banks Jr. Texas
11 San Francisco CB Jahdae Barron Texas
12 Dallas RB Ashton Jeanty Boise State
13 Miami OG Tyler Booker Alabama
14 Indianapolis TE Tyler Warren Penn State
15 Atlanta Edge James Pearce Jr. Tennessee
16 Arizona Edge Mike Green Marshall
17 Cincinnati S Nick Emmanwori South Carolina
18 Seattle WR Jayden Higgins Iowa State
19 Tampa Bay ILB Jihaad Campbell Alabama
20 Denver TE Colston Loveland Michigan
21 Pittsburgh QB Tyler Shough Louisville
22 LA Chargers DT Kenneth Grant Michigan
23 Green Bay CB Will Johnson Michigan
24 Minnesota trades pick to Cleveland QB Shedeur Sanders Colorado
25 Houston OG Grey Zabel North Dakota State
26 LA Rams CB Maxwell Hairston Kentucky
27 Baltimore Edge Donovan Ezeiruaku Boston College
28 Detroit trades pick to NY Giants QB Jaxson Dart Ole Miss
29 Washington Edge Mykel Williams Georgia
30 Buffalo S Malaki Starks Georgia
31 Kansas City OT Will Campbell LSU
32 Philadelphia TE Mason Taylor LSU
33 Cleveland trades pick to Minnesota CB Azareye'h Thomas Florida State
34 NY Giants trades pick to Detroit CB Trey Amos Ole Miss

Jackson has played and practiced against FAR better talent than Zabel. Jackson DOMINATED at LT against Michigan, Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame to finish the season. No sacks. No penalties. Only two pressures over those 5 games. I think Jackson is a VERY safe pick!

IIRC the OG talk was due to height and arm length concerns which he ended up measuring better than expected.

Yup. Meanwhile Will Campbell is on the lower side in terms of arm length but seems to be the consensus top OL.

PFF has Banks and others at 33.5 and Campbell at 32.
