It’s Kelvin Banks for me. He is being mocked all over the place with him trending towards the end of the 1st now. Don’t really understand it.
Harold Fannin, TE, Bowling Green. He's undersized by a lot but is a matchup problem for defenses. He's intriguing to me and we might be able to snag him in the 3rd. He's purportedly not much for blocking but he's a far greater receiving threat than what we have at TE. https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Harold-FanninJr-TE-BowlingGreen
Nate Tice touched on it a few weeks ago, remember his dad Mike was an OL man and NFL HC, and ppl feel Banks is a guard in the NFL. He’s suited more for the interior and not the outside.
I must be mistaken regarding arm length because Banks' length is as long or longer than every other top-10 tackle. https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/positions/OL/1/2025
Why is it every year the Texans enter the draft where is is GLARINGLY obvious what position they are drafting for, and they sit in their alloted slot and wait for thir pick to come around. Guarantee if they stay at 25 teams trade up to 23 and/or 24 and draft linemen out from under them. It is as regular an occurance for the Texans as the leaves sprouting on the trees in the spring. Throw a curveball for once and trade up like 5 slots, Texans. Doesnt have to be to the top of the draft. Just do it by total surprise. Thanks.
Short shuttle time is way more important for OL than 40 time... but a player's mass (weight / height) can impact their short shuttle score as well. Banks ranks up there with player's who have been successful at tackle IMHO.
The last time this happened we got jumped for Andre Dillard and ended up with Tytus. Say what you want about Tytus, but he’s on a different stratosphere to Dillard. Also that was like 5 years ago, and hasn’t happened since…
Here is the latest Mock Draft that I put together. With the Texans I am struggling with whether I should have Donovan Jackson or Grey Zabel at 25. I lean towards Zabel based off talent and upside, but I can see where the Texans go with Jackson instead because of his Big 10 experience. Jackson has played and practiced against FAR better talent than Zabel. Jackson DOMINATED at LT against Michigan, Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame to finish the season. No sacks. No penalties. Only two pressures over those 5 games. I think Jackson is a VERY safe pick!
IIRC the OG talk was due to height and arm length concerns which he ended up measuring better than expected.
Yup. Meanwhile Will Campbell is on the lower side in terms of arm length but seems to be the consensus top OL.
