This is why I brought the plus minus into the fold. If he was truly as bad as you say wouldn't he have been -20 in a game. Sengun sat down with 6 minutes left in first quarter. The score was 20-11. In the other 6 minutes we gave up 24 points. So the fact is our defense got worse when he went to bench.because in the same amount of time we gave up 4 more points.
You gotta understand DD. He wants the team to play HARD all the time. That's why he always roots for players who fit the bill and criticizes the ones who don't.
I guess you don't know Cam's nickname. Let me enlighten you then. He's known as Cam "Effort" Whitmore.
Alpi wasn’t getting the ball on offense and so he loafed a bit on D. Ime wasn’t having it so he sat him. Would not needed OT if he was brought back in to start the 4th.
Let’s have a look at numbers. Green brooks and fvv combined for 5 for 25 in the first half. Philly scrubs shot an unworldly 15 for 26 from 3 pt. both of these happened when Sengun was in the game and out of the game. 3rd quarter we shoot an unworldly 9 for 13 from 3 pt. For some reason this can be credited to Sengun being out but the same players were missing in the first hal with Sengun out, lol. ime and Sengun should ask themselves why they couldn’t punish the small line up. That’s the only reasonable thing to take from this game.
The last match showed that alpi will never be a player that udoka likes. I wish houston would trade him while his trade value is high and the player is young. Houston can always find a good defensive center for this team.
HUGE props to Alpi yesterday for the play to tie the game and then during OT. Especially after having to sit during that prolonged period.
What do you think the "vision" is? The NBA isnt MLB or EPL. It's like the NFL. Get a Top 10 NBA player as quickly as possible, surround him with another top 25 player and top 50 player and build around that. Sengun isn't a Top 10 player but he is a Top 25ish player. Ideally Amen ascends and someone else becomes a Top 50 player.
How many perfect centers are there? Arguably one, but he's a retired two-time champion who's working in real estate right now.
I think you answered your question. Even though he was +2, the Rockets were still down 20-11. This is why I take those stats with a grain of salt. I don't know if you ever played basketball or not but it's hard to put a tiger back in its cage once it's let out. Things don't just change IMMEDIATELY just because you make one player substitution. The Sixers were on a heater where ALL of their players were hitting shots.
This is a very good question. "Why invest $185M into a player who doesn't not fit your vision" and I think its simple. No one can deny his talents, so you give him a contract befitting to a player of his talents, in order to get a player of equal or greater talents in return that FIT. Remember, the Rockets weren't expected to be #2 in the West. They were expecting to be Play-In or #6 at best. So this yr was about futher adjustments.
It isn't a matter of likes, it is a matter of Alpi's limitations, he is slow of foot - no getting around that, he is great on the offensive block, but he needs a 3pt shot. It isn't Alpi's fault he is a helluva player, but he has limitations, and for anyone to maximize him, currently, they need SHOOTERS around him which we do not have. DD
You just completely dodged the question but okay. Because he also played in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. Rockets were already making the comeback when he was on the court in the 3rd but none of that matters cuz he started the game? Like there weren't four other dudes out there with him stinking it up as well it absolutely does matter because you said he was the reason we were down 25. He ended up positive cuz he made the game tying basket and was a big reason we won in OT.
