Gibson execs probably voted for Trump so they shouldn’t be surprised when he markets tacky les Paul like guitars.
they sued some canadian guy that makes a total of 20 guitars a year for using the "Flying V Shape" Only a matter of time before this happened. Time to get the trump bibles before Jesus sues too
I can re-shape the body of these guitars to be different so they are not in violation. Just line them up, give me an axe, and stand back.
Are you going to start shredding a solo so intense it causes an eruption of flames and burns the guitars to ash? Spoiler
My son who was a professional musician never cared for the Les Paul style guitar. He has about 15 guitars none are Les Paul style. He says they are too heavy for his liking. From Gibson he does own 2 SG's from the early 70's, a Thunderbird, and an 80'explorer. For jazz he modded one of his SG's, but he loves his Fenders, he has a Jaguar, a Jazzmaster and about 10 assorted from Squires to Starts and Tele's This is him with a modded out Squire believe it or not, back when he was just a pup. A little Eruption for ya.
That's a pretty obvious LP knockoff. Probably very shitty quality too. I hope Gibson eats them alive in court. Further, that guitar looks like something only Ted Nugent would own/play.
The courts have ruled in the past that the only thing you can really trademark and sue over is the headstock design. Fender tried and failed many times with so many strat style knockoffs flooding the market. There’s also a brand called Cort that famously went to battle with Gibson in the past and those guitars are very sought after now , but aren’t easy to find. From the pic in the ad though this headstock is basically the same as Gibson/Epiphone. So unless they change that out asap then I do think Gibson will win. This is sort of like Luthier 101 though so it’s kind of baffling they wouldn’t have known better. Knowing the Trump audience for this guitar I’m surprised they didn’t instead knock off PRS. That’s like the ultimate dude bro guitar. LP’s are boomer guitars but it is still okay to play one and be acceptable with the artsy fartsy music scene. You show up with this garbage though to play SXSW and you better pack you bags to only be invited to play the Creed/3-doors down/Nickback Rock Cruise tour instead. Also the reason why Gibson costs so much is because they have glue in necks and they know they have to invest in pro’s setting up every guitar before it leaves with precision. Fender has the luxury of being a bit cheaper because they can get them out of the factory cheaper because players and retailers can easily do the setup on their own. If these guys are charging this much do we really think they are capable of doing what Gibson does in their factory to give that care before it goes for sale??
