I wanted to let everyone know that TexasFudge has been a great hit and that I am really excited to introduce cheesecakes to the family. Though the fudge is still selling very well, these cheesecakes have been the biggest seller for the past month or so.

My question is...has anyone here ordered a cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory before online? I notice that they are selling them for 55.00 plus 15.00 next day shipping. I guess they use dry ice or some sort of cooling method to keep them fresh. If anyone has...can you tell me how it was packaged? I want to sell mine online as well because I have been told numerous times that mine tastes just like a frozen version of their original cake.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I ordered from Mother's, which sells the priginla Turf cheesecake from New York.

They used to have inferior packaging, and the cakes would arrive to Texas in a mess (in the summer). FWIW, they replaced those cakes at no charge.

They now use styrofoam and dry ice. I imagine making it airtight may help keep the dry ice from evaporating too quickly.

As for Cheesecake factory, you can buy their cheesecakes for about $13 at Sams; unbelievable price.

    Congrats on your success!

why would anyone pay $80 for a cake? (refering back to the watch thread...heh heh).....that chocolate cake is a bit overpriced at the chocolate bar. if you want a really good chocolate cake check out Rustika Bakery (across from Compaq Center). they have this super awesome chocolate truffle cake that is super moist. it runs about $5 a slice and $40 for whole cake.

mmmm Blackout Cake at Cheesecake Factory!!

I thought she was insane to do it also, but then I ate a bite and it was the BEST chocolate cake EVER. It even blew the Blackout cake away.

I couldn't even eat more than one piece at a time it was sooo good.

The Chocolate Bar is on West Alabama I think. Its overpriced but damn good!

I couldn't tolerate more than a few bites of the Chocolate Bar cake. Better than most, but they still using shortening, judging from the taste. Having a cake-maker for a wife has made my palate sensitive.

Another good, simple cake someone got me for my birthday was the Treebeard's yellow cake with the chocolate icing... kinda pricey, but so good.

    (sorry for perpetuating the thread-hijacking)

I have not, emoreland, but I just felt bad that no one was talking about your cheesecakes anymore.

The Katz's Deli here in Austin orders cheesecake from Carnegie Deli in NY. There's a Katz's in Houston too. It's pretty amazing stuff.

Call Katz's up, maybe they'll share the secret on the shipping.

yea, on that note, i would just call up cheescake factory and pretend you are interested in ordering a cake and then ask them how it is shipped.

by the way, frozen won't matter, taste the same either way, but will take a solid 12-15 hours to thaw. Don't even try to thaw it in an hour. You won't even be able to cut it.

I think i have a cheesecake that will compete with the cheesecake factory. I have worked very hard on it for a year now. Everyone, so far, agrees. I just need to know how to ship it online.
