Shot like garbage in the 1st half but shot 50% the rest of the way. Add the rebounds and the playmaking and this was a good game.
This game more than some of the others is a perfect example of Jalen's growth. He stunk up the joint from a shot making perspective in the first half, but remained aggressive, continued to draw defenders and kick to his teammates for open looks. In the past if his shooting was as awful as it was to start this game he would have faded and had a nothing burger type of game. Instead, he remained locked in and was truly impactful. Hit big shots in second half and in OT, made some great reads for assists, and the Rockets are not in a position to tie the game if he doesn't get that steal. Excellent illustration of the growth of this kid... even when he isn't scoring, he can be productive.
Regardless of everything else, that steal he got in the clutch was ABSOLUTELY invaluable to us being in position to tie up the game. He wouldn't have made that play in the Silas era, there wasn't enough accountability. He wouldn't have made that play last season, he didn't have the awareness yet. I talk about growth so much I sound like a viagra commercial. But that is some top-tier growth right there.
him and bobby the great will cite “low efficiency”. But Rocket fan favorite Ant Man can go 13-32 37 pts and that’s also think that’s a good game lol.
The timely 3s as well. In several games in the clutch done it either thru offense or a key defensive play.
On the, "who would you've drafted?" I had us getting Q Grimes instead of Josh Christopher.......seriously
I think what most ROCKET FANS would say, as long as we got the "W".....who cares? But oh I forgot, you're the one.
I'm so happy Jalen is shutting me up about his ability to continue creating assists and that he had a good overall game besides the shooting but... What's the verdict on the minutes? I'm watching the game now and can't understand why he couldn't get a couple of breathers. There were plenty of stretches where he wasn't shooting well. Something maybe even Jaters can agree with - there were spurts where we might have been better off with someone else on the floor for a few minutes. Why does he want to break every player that's willing to play hard for him? What is it with Ime? We're heading towards an ULTRA difficult last 5 games of the season and then the playoffs. Please be realistic and a little more cautious Ime. Learn how to love something man, Jesus.
