Supposedly a documentary on street basketball in Rucker Park. Hopefully we'll get to see some of the amazing talent on the streets that never make it to the NBA for one reason or another. I believe it's on TNT today at 9:05 Central time. ------------------ ?
D0D, did you ever see the documentary on PBS about the 2 Chicago (or was it Indiana?) kids? I think it was called Hoop Dreams. It followed them from grade school through high school and then to college. ------------------ You just want to be on the side thats winning.
Damn DOD...you've never seen "Hoop Dreams"? I thought that it was a prerequisite to being a bball fan. You best get on over to Blockbuster and get certified . We won't let you back in the chatroom until you are certified. Sorry. Surf ------------------
Anyone seen that movie Above the Rim?n looks like that was based off Rucker Park, obviously. Funny you had Tupac in the movie and Puffy in real life as sponsors. All in all, I didn't really see any Jason Williams type moves from those guys. My favorite moment was when the narrorator stated "Reggie Freeman who led Texas University to the Final Four".?!?? So this is where t.u. players end up? As for Hoop dreams, don't think you can see a more depressing film on b-ball. It usually airs on PBS commerical free once a year. I believe Bill Gates is still in the USBL. ------------------
hmmmm... you're right, Above the Rim does remind a lot of what goes on at Rucker... it was cool to see profiles of all those true street ballahs... a lot of those players were on the And 1 Mix Tape... watchin' stuff like this just gets me so hype to play ball oh yeah, Hoop Dreams was pretty sad...i felt bad for that guy ------------------
