As a backup Mills is ok. If he was better than "ok" we wouldn't be able to afford him. His only value is with Houston. He's damn near on the cusp of being out of the league.
With Tunsil gone we now have the WORST OL in the NFL. A radically bad predicament calls for a radical solution - use 4 of our 6 picks and choose QUALITY linemen. In case Nick is reading, I said "QUALITY"! With the first pick we're getting CJ a legitimate weapon at WR. Later we're grabbing a DB to add depth and replace Jeffry Okudah, who was awful. With a late pick I'm also grabbing a speedy and dangerous WR out of VaTech. With the other 4 picks we're taking a tackle to get us to 3 on roster, a center that is better than what we have and 2 guards whom we DESPERATELY need!
Why do you think this? I can’t get over how fans become talent evaluators. It’s so obviously impossible for the people that get paid millions of dollars to do it for real. Why do you think you know anything about these players? I’m actually really curious why you think some linemen from West Virginia is a safe bet? If you were the head coach of West Virginia I wouldn’t believe you.
I can't figure how Nick and his team of scouting geniuses used a 2nd round pick on freaking Juice Scruggs who was only a 3rd team all-B1G selection by the media after his senior year at PSU. Nick's pick of Blake Fisher last year doesn't look good at this point. Honestly, I think I can pick OL better than Nick.
Actually that just proves my point. It’s crazy difficult. And no you can’t pick better OL than Nick. If you could make money evalutaing offensive linemen for a living you would be doing it.
Also how does Blake Fisher not look like a good pick? The fact that they traded Tunsil makes me think Fisher is actually good. But I guess since he has no PFF score it doesn’t look good to you? Try to realize how little you know and that improving the OL isn’t actually difficult when you have the worst line in the league.
No matter how good or bad your analysis, you always HOPE to be LUCKY with your picks. He has unfortunately picked a high percentage of players with cancer. But the players benefited, even if the team did not. I wonder whether our medical team is just better than others at diagnosing it or if it's just a random statistical anomaly?
One of the biggest reasons to pick Jackson over Zabel at Guard is his arm length advantage of 33 1/2 to 32. While usually more of a factor with OTs, it's still an advantage at guard if you can keep your leverage and pad level low. His advantage over Simmons is speculative over how much the injury to Simmons will affect his future performance. Uncertainty is no friend of 1st round picks and great for bargain hunters in the middle rounds.
Another mock for us mock-draft degenerates. https://www.jsonline.com/story/spor...aft-free-agency-round-1-cam-ward/82474487007/
I couldn't disagree with you more. Mills is a very capable backup and if you compared Mills to the other backups around the league, I certainly would prefer Mills to the majority of them.
Speaking of Simmons and his injury. You can add Benjamin Morrison and Deone Walker to the mix. All three are potential 1st round picks that will probably drop to the mid rounds because of injury concerns.
I don't really understand this statement. There is no diva stuff going on at all with Campbell or Williams. Both are completely opposites of a diva.. I see a little bit more dawg in Williams than Campbell, but not much. I am completely uninterested in Campbell. Teams with outside zone blocking schemes like the 49ers and Seahawks are going to highly covet Campbell and Conerley in the first round. Membou and Booker at guard are fantastic fits for the Texans Power Gap and inside zone scheme but will be gone before the Texans pick at 25. Banks can be effective in both schemes, but I wouldn't trade up for him because Ersery is a better prospect and fit to the Texans at 25.
I just want a COMPETENT OG in FA! I don't trust Caserio drafting OL; 1) K. Green - he was a bust here, maybe do better in Philly. Nick was over thinking, should have drafted the DT at that spot. 2) Juice - he's been hurt and still haven't met expectations. Is he a guard or center? 3) Fisher - would have to give this an INCOMPLETE, because we don't know just yet Nick has hit on QB, WR, DE, S, CB, LB, RB but DT and OL are not his forte
