At this point, Congress is playing the same game of appeasing the old voting class while pretending 2-3 working Americans can foot the bill for every one retiree. And the supposed 4th estate is totally focused on scorekeeping by calling the 7-20B cuts "modest" with every drone agreeing or disagreeing it as a crime against humanity, Left hand washing the right hand washing the... No, they don't, they have a bare majority (5 seats in the House, 3 seats in the Senate). In 2023 (the first data point I could find) three of the Senators vote with Democrats more than half the time (Collins, Murkowski, and Graham).
