[Calm Down] Sitting at 0.632 and #2 Seed in the Western Conference!

Just avoid the damn Warriors. 2-3-4-5 seed, I don't really care, as long as I don't have to watch Steph and Kerr put us away yet again.

 

True, let’s hope that this time we won’t collapse like the last. We just have to stay focused on games like the last one vs. Bulls, so we won’t drop the must-wins matches on our schedule (like we did twice vs. Nets and against Utah). Regarding the tougher matches we will have - I trust our guys to win at least half of them. Hope that it will include the match vs. Warriors.

Them muhf**kas have OWNED us (albeit that first game was fishy, with the sports betting line suddenly changing pre-game in favor of the Kings).

 

They have been sitting from Seed 2 to Seed 5 I believe......

 

In the West, it’s definitely rare for a 51/52 win team to get 2nd, but it did happen two years ago.

When DEN won it all, MEM was second seed with just 51 wins — .622

 

As much as I kind of loathe these types of threads, it’s fun/interesting to look back to see how people originally interpreted our strong start to the season. Myself included.

I still think the ultimate factor in the playoffs will be experience and I’m not expecting us to necessarily beat whomever we play, even if we are favored on paper. If we play anyone with any playoff experience than our young guys are at a massive disadvantage. But that’s fine, you have to get experience somehow and this is earlier than probably most the league anticipated we’d get there — though I’m sure plenty thought we’d legitimately compete for a play in 7-10 spot.

Still a good amount of games to play though and just a few drops could have drastic consequences.

Hi. New here.Rockets is a very deep team now. In the past weeks, there have been serious injuries. We once lost three starters, so we lost our second position. But another team would do worse.

 

Very calm for now. But how's this for calm - check out the last 5 games.

And if I won the lottery, which people do every week, then I won’t have to worry about money for awhile.

 

The Rocket are more than a year ahead of schedule, going from 0.500 to 2nd seed is a very drastic leap.

Of course if you read the posts of the haters on this board the goal posts keep being move and this isnt good enough, some posters want Stone fired because the team kept losing games with 3 starters out.

My opinion, the success of this team when everyone is healthy means they deserve another year before consolidation trades happen. I would like to see FVV and Adams resigned to cheaper deals. I would also like 1 more year of the Jalen experience and see if can improve even more next year. 1 more year to see if Reed and Cam are good enough to see play etc.

 

Rox are on schedule, this year playoffs, next year challenge for the WC Finals, then year after championship contender.

Stone still needs to flip 3-4 players for ones that fit, after he picks a direction for the team overall - they sorta fit right now but not completely.

After beating the Sixers, Rockets have 2nd place to themselves pending later results.

Nuggets are up 12 on the Warriors at halftime. There is no way they will win without Jokic and Murray. Warriors will probably destroy them with their usual 3rd quarter run. I am mixed on who I want to win because, IMO, the Warriors will finish the season ahead of the Nuggets and are a bigger threat to the Rockets quest for #2.

The Grizzlies trail the Kings by 11 at halftime. I still think it could go either way even though Ja Morant is not playing.

Less importantly, the T-Wolves had their winning streak snapped at 8, losing to the Pacers who were missing both Siakam and Halliburton.

 

With Minny loss we are one stop closer to get the playoffs which is our first target.

 

Bucks are favored by 2.5 against the Warriors tonight because Steph hasn't been himself recently because of a back injury and fatigue. He played 36 mins last night and was not effective. That was key to the extremely short-handed Nuggets winning at Oracle. He may sit out the B2B to get some R&R.

Unlike the Warriors, I'm not hugely concerned about the Clippers catching the Rockets, but hopefully the Cavs beat them.
