I wonder why the Lord chose to use the letters "A" and "B?" That's mighty colloquial of him. Even so, the Lord could have just used the letter "A" and that would have covered the "B" part, I think.
It's actually one nut job talking to another nut job about something neither can understand. shrub the war and robertson, god.
possibly but from the context it wouldn't make sense since Bush was allegedly responding to Robertson telling him to prepare the American people for casualties. Even not many is some and should warrant him preparing the country. Ooh this could be messy But you don’t seem to mind Ooh don’t go telling everybody And overlook this supposed crime We’ll fast forward to a few years later And no one knows except the both of us And I have honored your request for silence And you’ve washed your hands clean of this
Is Rove calling Robertson a liar? Must have hit a nerve if Rove himself is trying to nip this in the bud.
Yes indeed he is. Gotta say now that I am leaning toward believing Robertson, after the Rove comment.
I don't see how one can see this as anything but BS. Bush might be one of the most ignorant presidents ever, might not have the quickest wit, and might have a speaking problem. But he's certainly not stupid enough to say something like that.
meh as much as I dislike Bush, I actually agree with you. It makes no sense, why would Robertson come out and say something like this now? When I first heard about this I was like "WTF?" This is really weird!
I don't get it either. It makes no sense either way. Perhaps just a publicity thing? Heck, even if Bush said it, and by saying "no casualties" he meant "negligible casulties", it's so easy for the white house to just scoff at the claim simply because it's so ridiculous.
I think that is a distinct possibility. Or there is some kind of behind the scenes party squabbling going on.
There's a difference between delusional, which certainly applies to Robertson, and lying really well to cover mistakes you know you made, which applies to Bush. I honestly don't think Bush believes most of the lies he spews out. He's shown to be pretty clever over the years, even if his speaking problems and policies give some a different impression.
Maybe Robertson is mad because in 88', Dubya convinced the Christian Right to get on board with Bush. I saw that on frontline and they had people who knew him talking about how Dubya realized back then that he could easily take Texas if he just appealed to these people. The man is shrewder than we think.
