The Rockets just guaranteed a winning record for the first time in five years

We did a nice job with the rebuild.

I have Amen as the second best prospect to come out over last few years, below Wemby but above Banchero or Cade.

Odd makers had us at 42.5 wins. My goal for the season was the play-in.

We're well ahead of where I hoped we'd be. Next season competing with OKC for that top stop isn't out of the question.

 

8-7 to get to 50.

Ya just from internal growth alone. Amen next season should probably take another offensive leap. Green and Sengun will probably have more refined consistent games next season.

 

Then the season after that is where the magic happens. Ascending to Corey Brewer levels as Bobby's theory was with Jalen. That's when the fun starts.

It’s always fun looking back to what I thought would happen from years ago to even last year.

My guess at the time -
A). Amen Thompson wouldn’t work due to his lack of shooting, and I thought his ball handling was a -huge- weakness.

b) I thought Jabari was going to be this teams number one star.

c). I thought Cam would be in the starting rotation by around this team.

D). I wanted to trade Sengun rather than re sign him due to his lack of shooting and rim protecting.

TLDR - I shouldn’t be any where near a GM table.

By the way this wasn’t a knock on anyone mentioned above. I love Jabari and how he fits with this team. I also think Sengun has done a great job for us this year.

Let's not forget that losing in the NBA can get you to the lottery a process that can get you a good to great player.

 

Great accomplishment. Some of us here (including myself) have criticised FO or Ime here and there, but I think we can all agree that they did a great job in these two years.
If our shooting % were at a league average level, we’d have way more than 42 wins by now. So it’s good to know we have more room for improvement.

 

Right about where I expected and I had an optimistic prediction so if we end anywhere over 47 wins I'll be happy!

 

I’d say Wemby, Cade and some other kid who’s been balling out - rookie or 2nd year - and then Amen.

 

1-2 playoff wins and I think we should all count this as a tremendously successful season.

Next year is the first year we have actual expectations for the group.

 

Yup. We tanked for three years and ended up with an All NBA level prospect (Amen), and All Star prospect (Sengun), several high level prospects (Green, Tari, Bari), a couple of solid young developmental guys (Sheppard and Cam), and, somehow, a ton of valuable draft capital going forward.

Yeah, we did pretty well.
