    The officials cautioned that a U.S. invasion of Panama is unlikely and would only come under serious consideration if a larger American military presence in Panama does not achieve President Donald Trump’s goal of reclaiming the waterway, the officials said.

    Trump has told his advisers that he sees a U.S. military presence in Panama and on the canal itself as critical to that effort, the U.S. officials said. Trump has also made it clear that he wants U.S. service members to be visible in the canal zone as a show of force.

    It is very presidential for the President of the United States to issue threats of using the most powerful military in the world to seize land that they have no legitimate claim to.

    Why are we randomly going after Panama and trying to make Canada the 51st state? Seriously, why? Who tf was asking for this??

    now they’re considering using the military

    All I’ll say is this, no black person should be involved in or giving their life for any sort of military invasion. We’re all DEI and incompetent anyways, right?

    imo, this is a good example of how Trump operates.

    This was all about Blackrock asking Trump for help getting into the global shipping industry. And it worked.

    I dont think we should have plans to invade an ally cuz a deranged facist wants too but I'm also not in a braindead cult so what do I know.

    The funny thing is if trump actually decided to invade Panama these cultists would 100% support it and defend him to their graves. These cultists have no values or core beliefs.

    The U.S. has strategic plans in place to protect and secure vital trade routes. This isn’t that. According to the report, this is reclaiming the Panama Canal waterway.

    Yes depending on the context. I would support a U.S. military intervention in Panama to secure the canal. The canal has immense global strategic importance and relevance.

    Duh..
    One of the US largest exports is Debts.

    once the US decides to invade (insert x- allies), hardly any country will buy treasures bonds.

    Dollar will be weaker , imports more expensive, Panama canal will become largley irrelevant at that point.

    prepare for 10x financial 2008's style crisis where Banks/insurances/Boeing/F/GM Freddie etc needs urgent bailout with no funds
