The last paragraph: President Trump has often said the U.S. needs talented immigrants, and a green card is crucial to the process of becoming a permanent resident and perhaps a citizen. The Administration needs to be careful that it is targeting real promoters of terrorism, and not breaking the great promise of a green card by deporting anyone with controversial political views. Agreed. Part of being careful is discerning whether speech “aligned” with Hamas is a real promotion of terrorism or an expression of a controversial political view that the administration doesn’t like. And this, again, is a free speech issue.
It's not even that. If that were the case, there would be a criminal charge and then arrest like you know... How It's supposed to work. I don't know why these people are even making the claims when the administration didn't even press any charges and just detained him illegally. Literally an extrajudicial arrest and detention.
He is alleged to have supported Hamas because the group he represented in negotiations have distributed Hamas-aligned propaganda (which, in and of itself, is protected speech). Whether he personally did so is not yet clear. But supposing he did, this type of “support” is not materially helping Hamas in any direct way.
My outrage cup is full, this will get sorted in the courts, as all the other problems we have going with Trump ATM.......I am not going to run around like chicken little b****ing about everything they are doing, which is illegal, just going to support our court system and groups who challenge everything. I may however, decide to build something to take on Twitter or FB that doesn't use the things that profile people towards, hate, anger and fear. DD

Kicking people here legally out of the country - away from their citizen wife, just because you don't think they should be protesting against Israel's bombing of gaza - and you find all that a-ok. That's why conservatives lack respect from my book. They talk about values only when it applies to them, but never to people they disagree with.
