Lizard brains, didn’t even read and hear it out. Nuanced with obvious contingencies. Everyone wants the young guys to play until I start cooking. Its gonna come up, I’m just early.
At this point I'm not even convinced that he's a glass cannon --- more like straight glass, no cannon.
Yall just trying to dunk. Don’t know what contingency means. Spouting last thought you had like your the doctor who examined it. Rockets have a paid staff whose job it is to build a roster that wins trophies. All I’m saying is to put it on the meeting agenda and give it a look over. If he’s done, Ime isn’t in, Joel doesn’t convince you he’s in etc. obviously don’t do it.
Clicked show ignored to see what you were responding to and that dude is a grade A ahole, just ignore him.
You should also stop posting immediately. You’re literally one of the worst posters in the history of CF…and I’ve been here a long time.
Just think, if it wasn't for all these stars being injured repeatedly the Rockets wouldn't have a snowballs chance in competing over the next 10 years. Embiid, Luka, Giannis, Zion, Durant, Kawhi, George, etc. Crazy how much different the league would look if those guys played all 82 games at peak performance. NBA would be a meat grinder. Injuries really damage the final product.
If I get your point right, you are saying that Rockets with its current young core is good enough to get into the playoffs and Embiid would come into the picture after that to carry the young core to championship. The problem with this logic is, you cannot just keep a player on the bench for a whole season, bring them in in playoffs and expect them to perform their best. This is of course exaggeration and I am sure you don't mean that. I am just trying to make a point. So you need to play him during the season, just to keep him in form. But then there is a high possibility of him not being available for the playoffs due to a season-ending injury, no matter how much load management you do. That is what an injury prone player is. There is no guarantee for any player to be available for playoffs, but with Embiid and co. there is even less of it. And it is not as cost effective as you present it to be. Fred and Dillon are important parts of Rockets current success and the moment you send them off, you will need to fill the hole they leave behind. Some of it can be filled with the young core developing and getting better, but not all. You need to find good supplementary pieces, which is doable of course, but is it worth the risk to get a guy who probably won't be available (enough)? I don't think so. Regarding this, I don't think what you do is any different. Like everyone else here, you are also just sharing your thoughts, whatever worth they are. As you say, Rockets have paid staff to build a roster and they won't put neither your idea nor mine on the meeting agenda. And if one of our ideas somehow lands in there, believe me, it will not be because you or I create a thread here.
Only reason he doesn't already is becaue of his Teammate PG-13 My thing is . . . .I have seen no evidence that Embiid is an exceptional playoff performer Rocket River
Comparing the viability of this path to just win just one over the next 3 years he has on his contract vs all other alternatives. We may see how far away we are and how good the other teams are over the next few months. Looks like current sentiment is that they have good chance of winning a championship with status quo or a different kind of trade. I’m not so sure. Your right, I’m overstating the 26’ viability, was trying to just set the scene of all 8 first round picks getting pt and being good enough to make the playoffs on their own but lack of chemistry and an average age of 23.. it’d probably be a step back next year and more about taking shots in 27’ and 28’
There I am fully with you. I am just trying to understand the OP's point of view and if I get him right, that is what he means.
Them boys didn’t read. I never said do this at all cost I said it’s worth looking into and seeing if several unlikely contingencies happen to all fall through.
Nothing is certain, i like the chances of either Sengun or Embiid stepping up vs any opposing teams 2nd best defensive big. Kind of a pick your poison, matchup hunting style of playoff offense.
