Salaries don't match. Any other way cost too much
Trading FVV and then picking up another guard is an easier more DO-able option
    that cost less capital

With Durant you would have no margins of error in 2 years.....it is Championship or Bust.

With great talent comes great responsibilities.

Basically you are getting mocked if nothing happens.

KD getting mocked because he cannot win without Steph Curry Continues......it is definitely not 27 year old KD either.

Cool story PHX, keep asking, but who is paying 3 firsts for 12 months of KD??

Dallas is like "if by young player, you mean Gafford, then let's talk!" Then they attribute a first rounder value to Klay and PJ Washington and send them with Marshall and a first for KD.

The Spurs are probably the only team more likely to enter the conversation when it comes to the picks.
They can trade Vassell and either Barnes or Johnson for salary matching. They have a couple of picks that aren't their own, and (I think) 4 swap rights as well. Some of those might be enticing for PHX?

I would do it. Because Booker cost even more.

That’s awesome, so by early summer it will be 2 picks and if they drag on a little longer it will be 1 good pick and one crappy pick.

Irrelevant that he’s on an expiring, he won’t go anywhere without an extension pre-agreed. Without his agreement they won’t even get one great pick.

Still think we will have better options, stars always break loose after the playoffs.

If they were three "meh" first-round picks, say, in the 20's, maaaaaaybe as high as #18, maybe. If KD signed on for another year as part of the trade.

    Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe.

But the first round picks Phoenix owes us? Especially if we luck out and move up into the top 3 with such picks? (Wouldn't happen anyway, Stone isn't stupid.)

Lol no. They can have Jock/Brooks and a top 8 protected first.

It's such a joke that they don't think they are getting bent over in this deal. That Worriers deal was probably the best possible result. I think Worriers overpaid because they were desperate on Butler.

Let that dude go to Knicks where they can battle the Celtics and get swept every year in the first round. Not worth it imo.

Why would he choose Houston with no real superstar here? plus is only going to be sidelined most the time in the next 2 years.

    Next..

No margin for error will also mean no time to develop guys that are not ready, so that means Reed, Cam, our 2025 Suns pick are either going to be gone in a trade for KD or they are not going to have a chance. We have that problem as is, add 36 year old KD and high expectations, there may be no room to develop a more raw player.

This sounds like they are going rebuild around Booker, vs. retool around booker. So not sure how Booker will feel about that, unless they are going to use those picks to go get another star player. It just sounds like if they are trying to reduce salary to get under the second apron, and get draft picks and a young player, those suns picks the Rockets own are going to be worth more early.

I have wondered what they would do with guys like Conley or Jaden McDaniels if they were traded in a package for him.... picks and 20-21 old players make the most sense.

I would give up very little for Kevin Durant at this stage of his career. I sincerely hope they don't go after him at all.

KD is still very good and will be very good till he retires. Health is the only issue with him but he is the other guy who can stay a star till past 40 besides Lebron.

Not on the defensive side of the ball. He’s toast on that side.
